Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bones Jackson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jason Roberts! The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Franklyn Lucas and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Roberts closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Jackson did well to prevent Roberts getting side control. Roberts sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Jackson defending well though. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Roberts in particular looking to stall. Roberts missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Roberts trying to mount his opponent but Jackson defends it. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Roberts's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Jason Roberts wasn't active enough on the ground. Jackson tries to clinch but Roberts moves away and Roberts counters with a shoot takedown. Jackson fights it but they end up in guard. Jackson striking from the bottom.

Roberts seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Jason Roberts hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Roberts throws a head kick that Jackson semi-blocks.
It looks like Bones Jackson has been cut. Jackson's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Jackson duly obliges. Roberts shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Roberts perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Let's hope that Roberts has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Jason Roberts was stalling too much, according to the referee. Roberts looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Jackson! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Roberts tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Roberts gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks! Jackson is breathing heavily. Jackson looks to land a combination but Roberts avoids it well. Jackson moves to clinch but Roberts breaks away and Roberts counters with a takedown into side control. Jackson is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Roberts is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Jackson is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Roberts controlling the position. Jackson tries to buck Roberts off but Roberts is having none of it. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Roberts gets to mount! Jackson was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly. Roberts looking to control and managing it successfully. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Roberts looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Roberts passes Jackson's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Roberts not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Jason Roberts has got the better of the ground game so far. Roberts thows a huge punch but Jackson dodges it nicely.

Jackson looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Roberts has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Roberts shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Roberts showed some decent athleticism there.

Jackson wants to improve his position but instead Roberts has moved into half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round. Roberts throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Roberts is working for a kimura but Jackson is defending it quite comfortably.

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Roberts drives through and clinches with Jackson against the cage.

Roberts seems to be working for a kimura but Jackson defends the submission attempt. Roberts controlling the action here.

Roberts trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Roberts is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Roberts postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Roberts pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Jackson is keeping the position for now. Roberts passes easily into side control. Nice work. Roberts taking a breather here.
And that's the end of the fight! Jason Roberts comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Roberts has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
