Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Roland Fischer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ejdur Manviq Sagqvimunssen! The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Yuuki Gou and Shigeki Sano.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sagqvimunssen closes the distance but Fischer moves to the side and Fischer counters with a nice uppercut. Sagqvimunssen swinging wildly here.
Sagqvimunssen tries to clinch up and Fischer cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Sagqvimunssen rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Fischer moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Sagqvimunssen thows a body kick. Fischer tries to catch it but that hurt him. Sagqvimunssen scores with a head kick.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Sagqvimunssen tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Sagqvimunssen pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Ejdur Manviq Sagqvimunssen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Fischer closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Sagqvimunssen did well to prevent Fischer getting side control. Fischer is looking to take a break and control but Sagqvimunssen is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Fischer is working for a submission of some sort.
Sagqvimunssen tries to roll over but Fischer keeps him under control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fischer gets to his feet - back to striking we go! Fischer scores a takedown into full mount! Fischer working for a submission but Sagqvimunssen is keeping him at bay. Fischer breaks from Sagqvimunssen's wrist control and lands an elbow. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Fischer looking to secure an arm triangle but Sagqvimunssen defends it well. Fischer throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Sagqvimunssen has his hands clasped together but Fischer breaks the hold and Sagqvimunssen is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Fischer!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Roland Fischer!
