Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Cliff Joe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luke Bombay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cliff Joe could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Luke Bombay's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Cliff Joe! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Luke Bombay! The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Steve Smith and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Joe throws a combination that misses enabling Bombay to counter with a crisp jab. A nice combination there by Joe.
Joe looks to land a body kick but Bombay moved away. Bombay shoots for a takedown but Joe saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Joe throws a lazy uppercut
and Bombay counters with a series of strikes. Joe will be more careful next time no doubt. A head kick misses from Joe. Joe throws a combination that misses and Bombay counters with a one-two to the body. Cliff Joe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Bombay tries a head kick but it misses.
Joe throws a left and a right that both miss
and Bombay counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Joe! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Poor strikes thrown by Bombay there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Bombay with a couple of short strikes. Joe is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Joe tries to lock up and control but Bombay gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Bombay wants to control the pace but Joe is squirming around nicely. Bombay gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks! Joe misses with a shot to the body and Bombay counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Joe throws an off balance right hand
and Bombay counters with a shoot takedown. Joe fights it but they end up in guard. Bombay trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Joe seems keen to control Bombay's posture. Joe is breathing heavily. Bombay looking to pass the guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bombay is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Bombay passes into half guard. Joe misses with some strikes from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bombay with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Bombay scoring with strikes to the body and head. Bombay has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Bombay not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Bombay not doing much here.
Joe won't allow Bombay to pass to mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Bombay controlling the pace.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Luke Bombay hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Bombay has managed to clinch.
Bombay lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Bombay tries for a takedown. No joy.
Bombay has Joe pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Joe manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Cliff Joe has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Luke Bombay. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Bombay looking for a takedown. Bombay escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

and Bombay counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Luke Bombay dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Bombay gets a clinch. Joe wants to get back to striking at distance but Bombay won't allow it.
Joe is trying to break free. Bombay displaying some good clinch control by pressing Joe up against the cage. Bombay breaks the clinch.
Bombay changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Joe tries to avoid it but Bombay manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Joe to the ground. Joe escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Bombay tries to score a power double leg takedown but Joe sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Bombay somewhat. Joe tries to close the distance and clinch up but Bombay swats him away and circles back towards the center. Bombay is breathing heavily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Joe throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Bombay counters with a lovely straight right hand! Bombay fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Joe avoids it really well and circles away. Cliff Joe has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Luke Bombay. Bombay closes this distance looking for a takedown but Joe circles away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Joe throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Bombay moves into the clinch. Joe breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Joe displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Bombay. Nice defenses there by Bombay. Joe tries to keep at a distance but Bombay has taken the fight into the clinch. Bombay drops down looking for an ankle pick but Joe pulls his leg out and moves away.

and Bombay counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Bombay is trying to force a seperation but Joe has the dominant position. Joe is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Joe lands a shoulder strike. Bombay fails to pull the fight into his guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Joe managing to block the knees to the body from Bombay.
Joe lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage. Joe breaks from the clinch.
Joe tries to clinch up letting Bombay counter with a right hand. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Bombay!
Bombay throws a body kick that misses. Bombay throws a series of punches but Joe moves out of range. Bombay misses with a head kick.
Joe fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Bombay has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Joe throws a combination that misses and Bombay counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Bombay misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Joe.

Joe tries to circle away but Bombay has him pinned against the cage.

and Bombay counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Bombay. Joe keeps control of Bombay as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Bombay wants to break the clinch but can't.

Bombay throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Joe's waist but Joe gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Bombay off to one side. Joe throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Bombay counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Bombay circles away from the clinch attempt and Bombay counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Bombay is looking to break free of the clinch but Joe has double underhooks. Bombay tries to break free but Joe pushes him back against the cage. Bombay prevents Joe from breaking the clinch. Bombay is trying to break the clinch but Joe is controlling him. Joe prevents a takedown attempt there.

Bombay moves into range and clinches up with Joe. Joe using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Bombay has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Luke Bombay showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
The fight moves into the clinch position. Joe is trying to break free. Bombay creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses. Bombay tries to pull guard but Joe holds him up against the cage and eventually Bombay drops back down to his feet.

Bombay throws a chopping leg kick but Joe manages to avoid taking any serious damage. Cliff Joe is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Joe with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Bombay prevents Joe from breaking the clinch. Bombay working hard to break the clinch. Bombay pulls guard effortlessly. Joe throwing strikes but missing. Joe tries to stand but Bombay is controlling from the bottom. Joe trying to control the position from guard on top but Bombay is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Joe throwing strikes but missing. Bombay is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Joe is aware though and is defending well. Bombay wants to sweep here but Joe controlling him for the moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Joe wants to control from the top but Bombay keeps moving. Bombay trying to control the position here. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Joe landing with the ground and pound. Bombay seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Cliff Joe has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Joe has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Bombay is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
And that's the end of the fight! Luke Bombay comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Bombay has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
