Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Vitor Torres (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Regis Almeida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Torres comes into the arena with Iron Maiden - The Trooper blaring out of the sound system. Vitor Torres has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Luis Engracia and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Almeida misses with a takedown
and Torres counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Almeida throws a head kick that misses.

and Almeida takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Torres clinches with his opponent.
Torres pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
Torres's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Torres tries a body shot but Almeida blocks it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Almeida is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Torres scores with a couple of nice shots.
Torres wants to pass the guard but Almeida is defending well.

Torres thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Almeida's head.
Almeida is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Torres is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Torres is working for an americana but Almeida has been sneaky and has managed to get back to half guard, whilst Torres was thinking about the submission.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Almeida pushes Torres off and scrambles back to his feet.
Almeida doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Torres counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Torres passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Almeida!
Almeida's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Torres swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Almeida is now in Torres's guard. A big mistake from Torres there, giving up the dominant position!

and Torres counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Torres fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Almeida sprawls well initially but Torres persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Torres is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Almeida defends it well.
Torres is just content to waste time from the top position. Almeida takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Torres is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Almeida can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Torres cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Regis Almeida has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Torres goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Almeida is on top in guard.

I would just about give that final round to Regis Almeida.
Well Torres has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
