Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dean Reed (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Otto Maddox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Maddox is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Institutionalized - Suicidal Tendencies. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Otto Maddox!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Cecil Peabody and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maddox ducks under a wild hook from Reed.
Maddox shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Reed pinned against the cage. Reed gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Maddox has managed to clinch.
Reed avoids a wild elbow strike from Maddox.
Reed fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Reed blocks an elbow strike from Maddox.
A head punch on the inside from Maddox fails to land.
Maddox pushes off an throws an elbow but Reed leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Reed wants to improve his position but instead Maddox has moved into half guard.

Maddox seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Maddox got a little sloppy there for a moment and Reed has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Maddox has managed to get both his arms back between Reed's legs - danger averted.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Reed has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Maddox can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Maddox remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Otto Maddox.
A looping hook to the body misses from Reed. Maddox does a little dance to reset his feet.
Maddox throws a low kick, looking for Reed's leg but Reed calmly moves out of range.
Reed fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Maddox manages to avoid it.

Reed misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Maddox.

Reed gets tackled into the cage by Maddox. Maddox maintains the clinch.
Maddox digs a right hand into Reed's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Reed's gas tank.

Maddox wants the takedown. Reed is fighting it off but Maddox persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Reed's guard against the cage.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Otto Maddox comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Maddox has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
