Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kyrstyof Soshykski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Massive Headwound (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kyrstyof Soshykski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Massive Headwound!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, John Mangel and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Soshykski gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Headwound counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Headwound misses with a series of wild punches.
Headwound is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Headwound tries to sprawl but Soshykski drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Soshykski gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
Soshykski tries to clinch up but Headwound circles away and keeps his distance.
Soshykski misses with a takedown

and Headwound counters with a takedown into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
You can see the frustration on Soshykski's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Soshykski tries to escape but Headwound is in control.
Soshykski sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Headwound working over Soshykski with some ground and pound. Soshykski looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Soshykski is looking for a sweep. Headwound is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Headwound throws a strike but Soshykski avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Soshykski is pulling down on Headwound's head. It's preventing any offense from Headwound, at least for the moment.
Headwound pushing down on Soshykski's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Soshykski is trying to control but Headwound passes into side control!

Headwound wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Soshykski, who protects the arm well.

Headwound trying to control the action but Soshykski is working from the bottom.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Soshykski is concentrating on defense, preventing Headwound from advancing position.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Soshykski flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

Soshykski is looking to control Headwound's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Soshykski avoid being mounted?
Headwound is looking to take a break and control but Soshykski is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Headwound tries for a takedown but Soshykski circles away easily

and Soshykski counters with a nice double leg into side control. Headwound won't be happy with that.

Soshykski takes a little break here. Headwound wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Headwound takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.

Soshykski gets control of Headwound's arms and successfully pulls guard. Soshykski will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

That's time! Soshykski's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!



Soshykski shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Headwound manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Soshykski seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Headwound for as long as he can get away with.
Headwound takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

We're going to have a standup here because Kyrstyof Soshykski wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Soshykski wants to get up but he can't break Headwound's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Soshykski seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Soshykski's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Soshykski is pushing down on Headwound's leg trying to pass to half guard. Headwound is fighting to maintain full guard but Soshykski has managed to sneak the leg through.

Massive Headwound has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Kyrstyof Soshykski is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Soshykski, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
