Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rick Ruude (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alan Belcher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alan Belcher is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rick Ruude! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Alan Belcher! The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Eddie Farnsworth and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Belcher fails with the takedown and Ruude counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Ruude throws a head kick that misses. Ruude is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Ruude will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Alan Belcher seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ruude throws a head kick that misses and Belcher counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Ruude has Belcher pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Belcher manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Ruude with a knee to the head.

Belcher prevents a body shot from Ruude. Ruude is looking to break free of the clinch but Belcher has double underhooks. Belcher tries to land a knee to the head but Ruude blocks with his arms.
Belcher has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Ruude uses from the top position. Ruude trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ruude trying to control the position from guard on top but Belcher is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Ruude advances position into side control! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ruude is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Belcher has escaped the position, nice work there. Belcher wants to get back to his feet. Ruude tries to score with some ground and pound. Belcher controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Ruude wants to lay and pray for a moment but Belcher keeps working. Ruude in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Belcher regains half guard there - taking advantage of Ruude's attempt to lay and pray for a moment. Belcher kicks Ruude off and gets back to his feet. Ruude gets off balance looking for a body kick and Belcher counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Ruude is lucky that one didn't land flush. Belcher shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Ruude counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Rick Ruude has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alan Belcher. Ruude stops Belcher from getting back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ruude thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Belcher to regain full guard. Ruude prevents Belcher from getting back to his feet. Belcher looks gassed! Belcher working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Ruude. Belcher is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Belcher keeping moving, preventing Ruude from controlling successfully. Belcher wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Ruude manages to pass to side control. Belcher pushes Ruude off looking to stand but Ruude dives back in and keeps control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Ruude passes to full mount! Ruude working Belcher over with strikes here. Ruude lands a nice shot to the head. Ruude goes for an armbar but Belcher turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Belcher. Belcher pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Ruude is keeping the position for now. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Rick Ruude will probably get the nod. That's time! Ruude's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Ruude looks to land a combination but Belcher avoids it well. A jab from Ruude does it's job there. Belcher tries to clinch but fails miserably and Ruude counters with a single leg into guard. Belcher didn't expect that. Belcher is wriggling around but Ruude manages to pass to half guard.
Belcher looks like he's trying to stand up.
Ruude stands up out of the half guard. Ruude takes the fight into the clinch. Ruude misses with a punch to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ruude has Belcher pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Belcher manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Ruude wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Belcher jumps guard but Ruude stands there with Belcher around his waist. Belcher gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Belcher decides to pull guard. Ruude wants to control from the top but Belcher keeps moving. Ruude scoring with some ground and pound. Ruude trying to control the position from guard on top but Belcher is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Ruude throwing strikes but missing. Belcher wants to get back to his feet but Ruude is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Belcher kicks Ruude off and gets to his feet. Belcher is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Belcher with a lazy takedown attempt and Ruude moves into the clinch. Rick Ruude has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alan Belcher. Belcher is breathing heavily. Belcher is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Belcher jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Ruude walks away with a smile on his face. Belcher gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Ruude takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Belcher wants to clinch up but Ruude keeps it at a distance. Belcher tries to keep at a distance but Ruude has taken the fight into the clinch. Belcher tries to pull guard but Ruude won't allow it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Belcher stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. Belcher tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Ruude just stands there and leans against the cage. Belcher pulls Ruude into guard.
Ruude landing some decent shots from guard. Ruude trying to control the position from guard on top but Belcher is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Belcher wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Ruude manages to pass to side control. Ruude not doing much here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ruude with the ground and pound but Belcher uses the opportunity to regain guard. Ruude gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Belcher instigates a clinch. Belcher tries to land knees in the clinch but Ruude avoids the damage to the body. Belcher pulls guard. Ruude trying to control but Belcher is working from the bottom. Ruude won't allow Belcher to get back to his feet. Ruude throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Belcher works some decent striking defense from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rick Ruude dominated that second round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
Ruude has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Belcher. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Ruude. Ruude takes a kick to the side of the head. Belcher tries to clinch up so Ruude counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Belcher wants to stand and escape but Ruude is having none of it. Ruude advances position into side control! Both fighters are breathing heavily. Ruude stands up. Ruude has managed to clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Belcher has Ruude pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Ruude manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Ruude wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Belcher has him pressed against the cage. Ruude tries to break free but Belcher pushes him back against the cage. Belcher's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Ruude stuffs the takedown attempt from Belcher. Belcher gets slowly back to his feet. Belcher wants to clinch and Ruude counters with a nice double leg into side control. Belcher won't be happy with that. Ruude slows the pace down. Ruude postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ruude throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Belcher works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Ruude in particular looking to stall. Belcher kicks off Ruude and gets to his feet. Belcher rushes Ruude and presses him up against the cage. Ruude gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Belcher.
Rick Ruude has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alan Belcher. Belcher dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Belcher escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Belcher tries to close the distance and clinch but Ruude swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Belcher gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Ruude counters with a nice double leg into side control. Belcher won't be happy with that. Belcher pushes Ruude away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Ruude gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Ruude looks up at the clock and then as Belcher takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Ruude smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Belcher is trying to buck Ruude off. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The strikes coming from Ruude are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Rick Ruude overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ruude wants to lay and pray for a moment but Belcher keeps working. Ruude working the ground and pound from side control. Belcher prevents Ruude from moving into mount. Ruude lands a decent elbow from side control. Ruude is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Belcher knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Alan Belcher has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Ruude working the strikes but Belcher uses the opportunity to regain half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Rick Ruude showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Ruude, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
