Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Wea Ponry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Damien Cook (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Wea Ponry! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Damien Cook! The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Daniel Blasius and Aafke Stam.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cook forces Ponry back against the cage and clinches. Ponry with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Cook tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Ponry just stands there and leans against the cage. Ponry is trying to break the clinch but Cook has him pressed against the cage. Cook tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Ponry smiles and moves away.
Cook gets a takedown into half guard. Ponry wants to control but Cook is keeping busy and won't allow it. Cook is figuring out what he wants to do next. Ponry is staying active underneath Cook, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Cook slows the pace down in half guard. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Cook is looking to take a break and control but Ponry is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Damien Cook has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Cook has managed to clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cook drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Wea Ponry has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Damien Cook. Cook tries to pull guard but Ponry won't allow it.
Cook is trying to trip Ponry. He has hold of a leg but Ponry is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Cook persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Cook sitting in guard, not really doing much. Ponry is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Cook accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Ponry has his foot on Cook's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Cook works his way back into a safe position though. Cook drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Cook jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Cook is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Cook tries to free his leg and advance position but Ponry is retaining full guard.

Ponry working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Cook has passed into half guard!
Cook is looking to take a break and control but Ponry is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Cook looks gassed! The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Ponry wants to improve his position but Cook is controlling well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Cook is looking to advance position but Ponry won't allow it. Ponry is pressing down on Cook's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Cook tries to free his leg and advance position but Ponry is retaining full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ponry is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Cook is aware though and is defending well. Ponry throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Cook escapes and throws Ponry's legs to the side, diving into side control! Ponry is trying to work for a sweep but Cook has mounted him! Cook is standing up, even though he is in mount. Ponry lands a high kick!
It looks like Damien Cook has been cut. Cook has taken the fight to the clinch.
Cook takes a knee to the side of the body. Ponry fails to pull guard.

Ponry tries to circle away but Cook has him pinned against the cage. Cook has Ponry pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Ponry manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Cook avoiding damage as Ponry throws knees to the body.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Ponry unloads a knee to the mid-section. Cook lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. Ponry tries to land a knee to the head but Cook blocks with his arms.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Ponry throws a head kick that misses. Wea Ponry seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Cook looks to land a body kick but Ponry moved away. Cook blocks the body kick.
Cook darts in and clinches Ponry up against the cage. Ponry utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body. Ponry tries to land a knee to the head but misses.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Cook on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Ponry is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Cook is aware though and is defending well. Cook must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Ponry not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

A close round but Damien Cook will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Damien Cook's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Ponry throws a sloppy head kick and Cook moves out of range easily. Cook gets the takedown into side control. Ponry is looking to regain half guard here but Cook keeps moving and retains side control. You can see the frustration on Ponry's face as Cook controls the position. Ponry struggling a bit here. Cook controlling the position from side mount. Ponry stops Cook from passing to mount. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Cook decides to take the fight back to the feet. A decent looking body kick lands there for Ponry.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cook takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. A solid leg kick lands there for Ponry.

Cook darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Cook is trying to control the action in half guard but Ponry is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Cook wants to pass the guard but Ponry is defending well. Cook thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Ponry defends it well. Cook trying to control from half guard but Ponry is working away. Damien Cook has got the better of the ground game so far. Ponry trying to hold on to Cook's head to control him but Cook postures up.

Wea Ponry dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Damien Cook's cut. That's time! Ponry's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Cook steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Ponry. That one must have hurt. Cook feints and as Ponry raises his hands in defense, Cook changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Ponry is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Cook is aware though and is defending well. Ponry keeping full guard, as Cook tries to pass. Ponry has an active guard here but Cook has managed to pass into half guard.
