Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Olivier De Troyer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carmelo Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Olivier De Troyer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Carmelo Diaz! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Alan Glass and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Diaz throws a hook but De Troyer avoids it easily. De Troyer moves into the clinch successfully.

De Troyer gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Diaz tries to pull guard but De Troyer holds him up against the cage and eventually Diaz drops back down to his feet.

De Troyer gets caught flat footed, as Diaz shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Diaz tries to free his leg and advance position but De Troyer is retaining full guard.

Diaz loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Diaz trying to control but De Troyer is working from the bottom. The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. De Troyer tries to clinch but Diaz moves out of range. Diaz closes the distance and clinches up with De Troyer, looking for a takedown. Diaz pushes De Troyer against the cage but De Troyer circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. De Troyer slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Diaz misses with a takedown attempt - De Troyer sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Olivier De Troyer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Carmelo Diaz. De Troyer misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
De Troyer looks to land a right hand but Diaz moved out of range. De Troyer throws out a leg kick but Diaz moves out of range and De Troyer only half commits. De Troyer is looking to clinch. Diaz keeps the fight on the outside.
That's three minutes gone in the round. De Troyer with a poor takedown and Diaz counters with a nice uppercut. De Troyer looks to clinch and Diaz counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. De Troyer throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Diaz counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Diaz is looking to work some ground and pound but De Troyer has wrist control. De Troyer keeping moving, preventing Diaz from controlling successfully. De Troyer is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Diaz trying to control but De Troyer is working from the bottom. Diaz has gone for a leg lock! De Troyer slips out almost immediately though and dives into Diaz's guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Diaz isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. De Troyer stacks Diaz on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by De Troyer!
That's four minutes gone in the round. De Troyer stands up and we're back to a striking position. De Troyer closes the distance but Diaz moves to the side and Diaz counters with a lovely shot to the body. De Troyer drives through and clinches with Diaz against the cage.
Diaz wants to break the clinch but can't.
De Troyer lands a hook to the side of the head. De Troyer has a couple of punches blocked by Diaz.
De Troyer breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
De Troyer wants to clinch and Diaz counters with a single leg into guard. De Troyer didn't expect that. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Diaz stops De Troyer from standing up. De Troyer might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Diaz looking to pass the guard. De Troyer utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Olivier De Troyer will probably get the nod. That's time! De Troyer's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
De Troyer tries to clinch but Diaz moves away and Diaz counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Diaz tries to pass to full mount but De Troyer defends it. De Troyer pushes Diaz off looking to stand but Diaz dives back in and keeps control.
De Troyer is defending against the submission attempts here by Diaz.
Diaz is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Diaz passes to side control. Diaz misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
That's one minute gone in the round. De Troyer takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Diaz misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Diaz swings around for an armbar but De Troyer sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Diaz's guard. De Troyer wants to get up but he can't break Diaz's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Diaz has his foot on De Troyer's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. De Troyer works his way back into a safe position though. Diaz is breathing heavily. Diaz keeping busy on the bottom but De Troyer has passed one foot through into half guard.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. De Troyer lands a nice short elbow. Diaz is looking to get back to full guard here but De Troyer has managed to pass to side control instead. Diaz can't escape the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. De Troyer tries to control but Diaz wriggling away. De Troyer controlling the position easily from mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Diaz is in all sorts of trouble here.

De Troyer tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Diaz is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. De Troyer controlling from the full mount. De Troyer avoids the attempt from Diaz to control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Carmelo Diaz showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Nice sprawl there from De Troyer as Diaz shoots in. De Troyer throws out a loose jab but Diaz uses good head movement to avoid it. De Troyer changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. De Troyer tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Diaz counters with an inside leg kick. Diaz doesn't succeed with the takedown and De Troyer counters with a stiff right hand. Olivier De Troyer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Carmelo Diaz.

Diaz is looking to advance position but De Troyer won't allow it. Diaz throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Diaz thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed De Troyer's head. De Troyer wants to improve his position but Diaz is controlling well.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Olivier De Troyer. I think De Troyer has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
