Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Phil Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hintu Ramoata (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Davis comes to the cage accompanied by Sick Puppies-Youre going down. Ramoata is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by calm before the storm. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Phil Davis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Hintu Ramoata! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Leandro Rodrigues and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Davis throws a left that rocks Ramoata and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Davis dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Ramoata regain composure!
Ramoata is rocked!
It looks like Hintu Ramoata has been cut. Ramoata tries to improve position but can't. Ramoata is still in real trouble! Can Davis finish him? Davis throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Ramoata seems to have recovered his senses. Davis lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Davis lands a nice forearm strike. Sloppy strikes there by Davis. You can see the frustration on Ramoata's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Ramoata is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Davis throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Davis thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Davis connects with a nice short shot to Ramoata's temple. Davis prevents Ramoata from improving his position. Davis will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Ramoata is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Davis tries to pass the half guard into mount. Ramoata knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Davis working over Ramoata with some ground and pound. Ramoata looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Ramoata looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Ramoata has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Davis is working away from the top position though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Davis not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Ramoata tries to get to full guard but Davis has control of the leg. Davis seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Davis prevents Ramoata from improving his position. Davis really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Ramoata is not content to let Davis control the position. Davis prevents Ramoata from improving his position. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Ramoata wants to control but Davis is keeping busy.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Davis lands a nice short elbow.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Ramoata is looking to improve his position.
Davis lands with a punch from half guard. Ramoata manages to get to full guard.
Davis with a flurry of punches that miss. Davis working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Ramoata working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Davis has passed into half guard!

That's three minutes gone in the round. Davis working the head and body with strikes. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Davis connects with a nice short shot to Ramoata's temple. Davis slips a nice elbow through Ramoata's hands, connecting with Ramoata's forehead. Ramoata is trying to get back to full guard. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Ramoata on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. The fighters are battling for position here. Ramoata manages to regain full guard. Nice work. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ramoata looking to hit a scissor sweep but Davis is one step ahead there. Ramoata is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Davis is pushing down on Ramoata's leg trying to pass to half guard. Ramoata is fighting to maintain full guard but Davis has managed to sneak the leg through. Davis takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Nice strikes from Davis there. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Davis connects with a nice short shot to Ramoata's temple.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Davis lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Davis takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Ramoata gets full guard. Davis throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Ramoata works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Davis's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Ramoata trying to control the position.

Davis stands up over Ramoata, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Davis scoring with some ground and pound. Ramoata trying to control the position.
Davis is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Phil Davis dominated that round. The cut man is working on Hintu Ramoata's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Ramoata. Ramoata uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Davis. Davis misses with a double jab
and Ramoata counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Ramoata manages to break the clinch.
Davis attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Davis blocks a low kick nicely. Davis's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Davis duly obliges. Ramoata closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Davis throws a one two combo.
That's one minute gone in the round. Davis throws a perfectly timed hook that sends Ramoata crashing down! Ramoata tries to stagger back to his feet but Davis just hammers him until the ref stops the fight! A confused Ramoata asks the ref what just happened. Poor fella.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:08 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Phil Davis!
