Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Randolph Winchester!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Matt Lisser!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Tarja Halkonen and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lisser throws a lazy right hand but Winchester sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Winchester tries to move into range but Lisser moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.


It looks like Randolph Winchester has been cut.
Winchester keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Lisser.
Winchester throws a jab but it's blocked by Lisser.
Winchester throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Winchester misses the body punch
and Lisser makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Lisser tries to close the distance and clinch up but Winchester swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Winchester moves out of range of the strikes.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Winchester.
Lisser throws a series of punches but Winchester moves out of range.
Lisser thows a body shot but no joy.
Winchester swings for the body but Lisser moves out of range.
Matt Lisser seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nice defenses there by Lisser.

Lisser misses the shot to the body.
A jab from Lisser misses.
Winchester just misses with a punch to the body.
Lisser closes the distance looking to clinch

and Winchester counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Lisser's guard now.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Lisser can do anything to dispel that myth.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Lisser holds on and takes a little breather.

Lisser keeping full guard, as Winchester tries to pass.
Lisser can't keep his opponent in guard - Winchester advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Winchester is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Winchester misses with a head shot. Lisser uses the momentum to regain guard.

Winchester postures up in Lisser's guard and throws a big left but Lisser blocks it.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Lisser has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Lisser just misses with a punch to the body.
Lisser throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Lisser tries for a takedown but Winchester circles away easily

and Winchester counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Winchester tries to land knees in the clinch but Lisser avoids the damage to the body.
Lisser is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Winchester pulls him back up using the underhooks.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Winchester misses with a knee to the head.
Lisser drops down looking for an ankle pick but Winchester pulls his leg out and moves away.
Randolph Winchester has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Matt Lisser.
Winchester thows a body shot but no joy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Winchester throws a jab when Lisser was well out of range.
Lisser fails to land with a series of punches.

Lisser scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Winchester is trying to improve his position.
Winchester takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Winchester tries to bench press Lisser off him but Lisser keeps the position.
Winchester manages to get back to half guard.
Winchester is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Winchester wants to control but Lisser is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Lisser is nestled in close to Winchester, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Winchester tries to get to full guard but Lisser has control of the leg.
Winchester is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Lisser's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Lisser's back!
Winchester struggling to keep hold of the position.
Lisser covering up well and avoiding damage.
Winchester wants to control the position but Lisser frees himself and scrambles - Winchester manages to regain control in side control.

Winchester trying to control the action but Lisser is working from the bottom.
Lisser is trying to get back to his feet.
Winchester works to advance to full mount. Lisser defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Winchester throwing strikes here but Lisser is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Winchester misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Winchester with some aggressive grappling here, looking for the finish.

Lisser suckers Winchester into throwing a sloppy strike and uses the momentum to reverse the position beautifully! Lisser is now in Winchester's guard!

Winchester is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Lisser rolls with it to try and escape but Winchester cranks on the arm and Lisser is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
