Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Paul Phoenix (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hulk Hogan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Phoenix comes into the arena with Phoenix blaring out of the sound system. Hogan has chosen The real American as his entrance music. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Paul Phoenix!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hulk Hogan!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Daniel Franklin and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Phoenix misses with a right hand
and Phoenix takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Hogan tries to keep at a distance but Phoenix has taken the fight into the clinch.
Hogan jumps guard but Phoenix stands there with Hogan around his waist. Hogan gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Phoenix has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Hogan uses from the top position.
Phoenix wants to improve his position but instead Hogan has moved into half guard.

Hogan is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Phoenix doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Hogan.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Phoenix is controlling Hogan's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Phoenix is looking for a sweep. Hogan is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Hogan winds up and cracks Phoenix with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Hogan is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Phoenix is looking to improve his position.
Hogan has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Phoenix wants to hold on but Hogan pushes him away.

Hulk Hogan dominated that round.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Phoenix in particular looking to stall.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Hogan regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Phoenix.
Hogan preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Phoenix engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Phoenix postures up in Hogan's guard and throws a big left but Hogan blocks it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Phoenix stays in close to Hogan's body and controls the position.

Hogan is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Phoenix is stalling in the full guard.

Hogan working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Phoenix has passed into half guard!
Phoenix is trying to control the action in half guard but Hogan is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

We're going to have a standup here because Paul Phoenix wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

and Hogan counters with a nice double leg into side control. Phoenix won't be happy with that.

That was a close second round but I would say that Paul Phoenix will probably get the nod.

Phoenix is looking to stand back up but Hogan counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Phoenix.

Phoenix wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Hogan manages to pass to side control.
Hogan is thwarting Phoenix's attempts to control the position.

Phoenix throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

Phoenix has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Hogan escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Hogan!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
You can see the frustration on Phoenix's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Phoenix is looking for a sweep.
Hogan is looking to take a break and control but Phoenix is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Phoenix is pushing Hogan's head away, looking to escape. Hogan manages to hold on to the position though.

Hulk Hogan comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Hogan has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
