Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Andrew Short (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Prevost (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Andrew Short! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ryan Prevost! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Robert Douchet and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Prevost moves out of range of the strikes. Short gets a clinch. Prevost tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Short smiles and moves away.
Short throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Prevost sees it coming and avoids it easily. Short looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Prevost is fending him off so far but Short persists. Nope, Prevost circles away and we're back to standing. Short throws a looping overhand right but Prevost ducks down to avoid it. Prevost swats away the attempt to clinch by Short. Short tries to clinch but Prevost is having none of it. Prevost looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Prevost throwing shots but Short is blocking nicely. Prevost tries to pass the half guard into mount. Short knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Prevost trying to control the action but Short is working from the bottom. Short is looking for a sweep. Prevost is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Short is not content to let Prevost control the position. Prevost prevents Short from improving his position. Short is in trouble now - Prevost has advanced to mount! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Short tries to control the position but Prevost now has his back.
Short is really stuck here.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Short covers up after taking a massive shot to the side of the head.
You can see the frustration on Short's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Prevost is looking to finish with some ground and pound! Short looking very determined here, making life difficult for Prevost.
Watch the back of the head! Comes the shout from the referee towards Prevost.
Prevost looks gassed! Prevost is landing with strikes from the back. Prevost has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Prevost struggling to keep hold of the position.

Short has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke. Prevost avoiding Short 's attempts to control his hands.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Prevost's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
Prevost is not going to allow Short to sit and survive in this position. Prevost has the hooks in. Short is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. Short trying to control the hands but Prevost breaks the grip. Prevost trying to control. Short is in bad spot here.
Short grimaces as he takes a shot to the body. I really don't envy Short right now.

Short throws a shot from downtown. Prevost moves away and avoids it. A jab from Short finds it's way through Prevost's defenses. Prevost moves out of range as Short strikes. Ryan Prevost is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Prevost staying out of range there. Short shoots in for a takedown and gets it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Short throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Prevost looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Short wants to control but Prevost is keeping him busy. Short is figuring out what he wants to do next. Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Short swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Short throws a jab when Prevost was well out of range. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Prevost shoots in looking for a takedown. Short tries to sprawl out of it but Prevost keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Short manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Short throws a looping overhand right but Prevost ducks down to avoid it. Prevost shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Short trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Prevost manages to pass to mount!
Short has given up his back here. Will Prevost look for the submission or keep pounding away?

Ryan Prevost has got the better of the ground game so far. Prevost has his opponent's back and is working for the choke. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage! Prevost is working for the rear naked choke. Ryan Prevost showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Prevost walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Prevost takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Short with a lazy takedown attempt and Prevost counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Short misses with some strikes from the bottom.

We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Short tries to get out of the position. Short looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Prevost passes into half guard.
Short has a hand on Prevost's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Prevost takes advantage of the position though and mounts him! Both fighters are breathing heavily. Short is working to get back to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Short tries to hold on but Prevost postures up. Short srikes from the bottom but he's lost position and has given up his back.
Prevost controlling well, preventing Short from escaping the position.
Prevost gets his hands free as Short looks to control. Short breaks Prevost's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Short accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Short misses with a takedown and Prevost counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters. Short tries for a takedown but Prevost circles away easily and Prevost holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Andrew Short. That's going to take a lot out of him. Prevost wants a takedown.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Prevost jumps guard and drags Short to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Short in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Prevost working a defensive guard here.
Short throwing strikes but missing. Short postures up and lands a big shot to Prevost's brow. Short stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Prevost swivels though and keeps the full guard. Prevost bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Short's guard. Short trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Prevost is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Prevost passes Short's left leg - he's now in half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Prevost trying to control the action but Short is working from the bottom. Short wants to control but Prevost is keeping busy and won't allow it. Short is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Prevost seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Short does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Prevost tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Short is looking for a sweep. Andrew Short has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Prevost lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Prevost works to advance to full mount. Short defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Short throwing hammer fists to the chest of Prevost. What's that going to do exactly? Short is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Prevost locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Short is forced to tap!
