PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kenric Kyle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mason Terell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Kyle might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Simply Ravishing. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A leg kick checked by Terell.
Terell misses with an uppercut
and Kyle counters with a nice body kick.
Terell tests Kyle's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Terell sizes up Kyle with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Kyle pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Kyle moves out of range as Terell throws a body kick.

Terell misses with a right hand
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Terell swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Mason Terell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Kyle counters with a low kick, right behind Terell 's knee.
Terell feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Kyles jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Kyle throws a nice looking combination but Terell bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Terell lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

and Kyle counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Terell feints and as Kyle raises his hands in defense, Terell changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Terell postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Terell thows a big elbow that misses.
Kyle manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Terell manages to get himself to full guard.
Terell wants to sweep but no luck.
Terell is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Kyle dives into side control.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Terell pushes Kyle away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Kyle gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kyle has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Kyle closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Terell to the mat! Terell manages to get full guard.

Kyle is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Terell is just riding it out for now. Kyle eventually gives up the hold.

Terell pushes Kyle off but Kyle dives into side control.
Kyle lands a few punches from side control.

Terell explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!

Kyle walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Terell throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Terell decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Terell is working for a kimura but Kyle is defending it quite comfortably.

Terell catches Kyle with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Terell's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Kyle has momentary wrist control but Terell slips an elbow through the middle.
Terell loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Terell sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Kyle's guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Terell wants to control but Kyle is keeping him busy.
Terell is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Kenric Kyle overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Terell winds up and cracks Kyle with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Terell is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Terell is just content to waste time from the top position. Kyle takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Mason Terell has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Terell avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Terell wriggles free and stands up.
Kyle tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Terell paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Kyle keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Terell looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Terell on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Kyle. Kyle obviously looking to wear him down.
Terell misses with a combination
and Kyle counters with a head kick. That will keep Terell thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Terell takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Kenric Kyle is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Kenric Kyle has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mason Terell.
