Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Xander Cage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ivan Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Xander Cage!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ivan Davis!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Steve Erwin and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cage finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Davis should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Cage drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Davis is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Davis is pressing down on Cage's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Cage throws and elbow that misses. Davis uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Cage's guard. Nice move by Davis!
Davis trying to control but Cage is working from the bottom.
Cage wants to stand up but Davis is controlling him.
Davis with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Davis wants to control from the top but Cage keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Ivan Davis hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Davis gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Cage counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Davis wants to improve his position but Cage is controlling well.

Davis regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Cage.

Davis can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Cage controls the pace.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Cage wants to pass the guard but Davis is keeping the position.
Cage has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Cage stands up over Davis, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Davis tries to free his leg and advance position but Cage is retaining full guard.

Cage lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Davis circles away quickly and effectively.

Cage is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Davis's half guard.
Cage throws a strike but Davis avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Cage throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Davis works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Cage postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Cage not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Cageis looking to pass into half guard but Davis pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Davis is in guard.
Cage wants to stand up but Davis is controlling him.
Davis seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Davis won't allow Cage to get back to his feet.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Davis trying to control but Cage is working from the bottom.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

and Cage counters with a nice double leg into side control. Davis won't be happy with that.
Davis dodges the ground and pound from Cage.
Cage landing strikes.
Cage working the strikes but Davis uses the opportunity to regain half guard.
Davis is trying to stand back up but Cage is controlling him
Cage working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Davis's thigh. Davis counters though and makes it back to full guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Cage accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Cage is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Cage looking to sit in guard and control but Davis gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Cage wants to get back to his feet but Davis is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. And we move into the final round!

Cage decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Cage wants to pass the guard but Davis is defending well.

Davis is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Cage pulls his head out easily.

Cage throws a strike but Davis rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

and Cage counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Davis!

Cage can't control as he wanted to and Davis manages to get the fight back to his half guard.

Cage is posturing up here but Davis has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Cage tries to roll out but it's too tight and Cage has to tap! Slick submission there by Davis!
