The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kolk closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Sangre tries to kick Kolk off but Kolk keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Sangre won't allow Kolk to pass to mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kolk throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Sangre looks like he's trying to stand up.
Kolk is trying to control. Sangre wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Sangre trying to hold on to Kolk's head to control him but Kolk postures up.
Sangre wants to get back to full guard. Kolk throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Sangre is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Kolk not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sangre trying to hold on to Kolk's head to control him but Kolk postures up.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Kolk seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Sangre does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Sangre knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kolk on the ground.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Kolk drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Sangre keeping moving, preventing Kolk from controlling successfully. Sangre is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Kolk's corner is telling him to maintain position. Sangre keeping full guard, as Kolk tries to pass. Kolk works a leg free and moves into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Sangre slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Kolk trying to control but Sangre is working from the bottom. Kolk stands and steps away. Sangre gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. The crowd cheers as Kolk lands an impressive looking overhand right. Sangre doesn't seem phased though. Sangre gets caught flat footed, as Kolk shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Kolk slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Sangre can't keep his opponent in guard - Kolk advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Kolk performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sangre is in trouble now - Kolk has advanced to mount! Kolk tries to control but Sangre wriggling away. Sangre wants to control but Kolk is having none of it. Kolk trying to control but he's not successful this time. Kolk content just to control the position here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Sangre is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Sangre is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Kolk thowing shots but they're missing. Sangre blocking the ground and pound. Kolk wants to control the pace but Sangre is squirming around nicely. Kolk misses with a head shot. Kolk has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Kolk stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet. Kolk moves into the clinch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Lemme Kolk dominated that round. That's time! Sangre's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Sangre looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Sangre fails with the takedown and Kolk counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Kolk. Kolk stays in close to Sangre's body and controls the position. Kolk trying to control the position from guard on top but Sangre is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Kolk tries to free his leg and advance position but Sangre is retaining full guard. Sangre keeping moving, preventing Kolk from controlling successfully. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Lemme Kolk wasn't active enough on the ground. Kolk clinches up against the cage. Kolk gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Sangre regains guard.
Kolk controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Sangre looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kolk working some strikes from top position. Kolk drops back, looking for a kneebar! Sangre looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Sangre looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Sangre! Sangre wants to stand but Kolk has his arm trapped. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kolk manages to work his way to half guard, despite Sangre's best efforts. Kolk tries to roll over but Sangre keeps him under control. Kolk trying to control but Sangre postures up.
Sangre is trying to work for a kimura but Kolk is defending well.
Kolk is not content to let Sangre control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sangre thows a huge punch but Kolk dodges it nicely.
Kolk is pressing down on Sangre's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Kolk manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Sangre manages to get himself to full guard.
Kolk stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sangre swivels though and keeps the full guard. Kolk throwing strikes but missing. Kolk trying to control the position from guard on top but Sangre is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Kolk seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kolk working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Sangre keeping moving, preventing Kolk from controlling successfully.
Lemme Kolk has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Sangre shoots and misses so Kolk counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Kolk passes into half guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Kolk decides to return to a standing position. Kolk shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Kolk postures up in Sangre's guard and throws a big left but Sangre blocks it. Lemme Kolk has got the better of the ground game so far. Kolk trying to control the position from guard on top but Sangre is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Sangre working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Kolk.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sangre keeping full guard, as Kolk tries to pass. Kolk is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Kolk stands up and waves to Sangre to follow him. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Kolk drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Kolk is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Sangre's shoulder. That is not cool. Sangre struggling a bit here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Lemme Kolk showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Sangre shoots and misses and Kolk counters with a two punch combo. Kolk clinches. Kolk wants a takedown but no success here.
Sangre has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Kolk is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Sangre tries to pull guard but Kolk won't allow it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Fernando Sangre. That's going to take a lot out of him. Kolk pulls guard successfully.
Kolk is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Kolk had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Sangre defends it easily. Sangre with a nice head shot there. Kolk utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Kolk is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Kolk is pressing down on Sangre's thigh, looking to free his foot. Sangre is holding on for now. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Sangre is looking to control Kolk's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Sangre avoid being mounted?
That's one minute gone in the round. Sangre is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Kolk is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Sangre keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Kolk is pressing down on Sangre's thigh, looking to free his foot. Sangre is holding on for now. Sangre wants to control but Kolk is keeping busy and won't allow it.

He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Kolk stands and steps away. Sangre gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Kolk feints and as Sangre raises his hands in defense, Kolk changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Kolk trying to control the position from guard on top but Sangre is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Kolk is looking to work some ground and pound but Sangre has wrist control. Kolk wants to control from the top but Sangre keeps moving.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kolk accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Well,Sangre is on his way to losing a decision here. Can he use his experience to pull something off in the closing minutes? Kolk wants to control from the top but Sangre keeps moving. Kolk stops Sangre from standing up.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Lemme Kolk hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Kolk decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Kolk postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Sangre to stand up. Kolk dodges the punch combination from Sangre.
Kolk changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Sangre looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Kolk wants to control but Sangre is keeping him busy. Kolk goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Sangre rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Kolk's guard! Nice work there by Sangre!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sangre trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Kolk wants to get back to his feet but Sangre is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Sangre pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Kolk is keeping the position for now. Kolk working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Sangre. Kolk looking for a sweep. Not yet Kolk, not yet. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Kolk bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Sangre's guard. Kolk controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Kolk throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
And that's the end of the fight! Lemme Kolk comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Kolk has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
