Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Jones! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Francisco Santos! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Robert Twigg and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Santos doesn't succeed with the takedown and Santos takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Santos doesn't succeed with the takedown and Jones counters with a straight right hand. Jones shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Jones was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Santos keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Jones scoring with strikes but Santos is staying in there. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. This has been an exciting period of action! Santos tries to improve his position but Jones has taken his back! Jones has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Santos tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Jones pushes Santos away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
