PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pacman Barnes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Russell Bell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Barnes comes to the cage accompanied by Black Eyed Peas - Imma Be. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bell ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
A lazy left from Barnes finds it's target.
Some wild striking there from Barnes.
Bell ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Barnes moves away.
Barnes defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Bell.
Barnes throws a series of punches but Bell moves out of range.
Bell throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Barnes counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Bell throws a shot to the body.
Bell misses with a lunging right hand
and Barnes counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Bell shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Barnes as he avoids it easily.
Barnes lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Bell closes this distance looking for a takedown but Barnes circles away.
Pacman Barnes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Russell Bell.
Bell throws a right hand that misses
enabling Barnes to counter with a crisp jab.
Barnes takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Barnes showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Bell.
Barnes throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Barnes throws a leg kick which misses Bell's front leg but catches the back leg as Bell tries to avoid it.
Barnes lands a lovely overhand right.

and Barnes counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Bell looks gassed!
Barnes throws out a powerful jab.
Barnes wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Barnes connects with an inside leg kick.
Barnes connects with a solid leg kick.
Left hook, right uppercut from Barnes.

It looks like Russell Bell has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Barnes's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Barnes duly obliges.

Bell is rocked!
Bell takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Bell doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Jab, jab by Barnes - just one landing.
Barnes fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Bell has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Bell is trying desperately to land a takedown but Barnes is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Bell.
Barnes cracks Bell with a right hand to the side of the head.
Bell closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Bell is still on wobbly legs! Can Barnes finish him?
Barnes connects with a nice looking jab.

Barnes misses with a few strikes there.
Bell seems to have recovered his senses.
Bell misses with a hook
and Barnes counters with a lovely shot to the body.

Oooh a lovely combination from Barnes sends Bell down but not out. Barnes dives into side control looking to finish.
Barnes in side control here. He's dropped a big elbow there and Bell looks hurt! Oh, he is hurt! Barnes turns on the heat and pounds him out for a TKO victory! Good killer instinct there!
