Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Wes Miles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Walter Hannedy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Miles comes to the cage accompanied by Kings of Leon - Closer. Walter Hannedy has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Wes Miles's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Wes Miles! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
15 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Walter Hannedy! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Luis Engracia and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Miles misses with an uppercut
and Hannedy counters with a straight right hand. A jab from Miles finds it's way through Hannedy's defenses. Wes Miles seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Miles misses with a body punch
letting Hannedy counter with a right hand. Miles scores with a jab. Hannedy acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Hannedy gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Miles cracks Hannedy with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Hannedy keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Hannedy takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Hannedy tries for a takedown but Miles circles away easily and Hannedy takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Miles misses with a body shot
and Hannedy counters with a one-two to the body. Miles throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Miles fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Hannedy drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Miles gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Hannedy is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Miles doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Hannedy. Hannedy throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Hannedy thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Miles's head. Hannedy wants to work for an arm triangle but Miles is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Hannedy is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Miles defends it well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Hannedy is thwarting Miles's attempts to control the position. Hannedy is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Miles doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Hannedy. That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Hannedy seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Miles does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Miles manages to get to full guard.
Hannedy trying to control the position from guard on top but Miles is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Hannedy won't allow Miles to sweep him here. Hannedy thows a big elbow that misses. Hannedy drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Miles manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Hannedy has Miles in his guard. Miles seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Walter Hannedy will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Miles works the jab nicely. Hannedy throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Miles was covering up waiting for the punch and Hannedy finishes the takedown easily into guard. Miles is trying to control the position but Hannedy postures up. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Miles holds on and takes a little breather. Miles is looking for a triangle but Hannedy pushes his legs off easily.
Hannedy postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Miles is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Hannedy, into his guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Miles trying to control but Hannedy is working from the bottom. Hannedy wants to sweep here but Miles controlling him for the moment. Hannedy lands some strikes from the bottom. Miles passes easily into side control. Nice work. Miles trying to control the position but Hannedy is working away. Hannedy tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Miles wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Miles wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hannedy keeps working. Hannedy sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Hannedy is not content to let Miles control the position. Miles looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Hannedy with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Miles thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Miles slows the pace down in half guard. Miles is trying to control the action in half guard but Hannedy is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Hannedy is trying to control but can't.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Hannedy is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Miles jumps into side control! Hannedy is looking to regain half guard here but Miles keeps moving and retains side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hannedy wants to control but Miles postures up. Miles lands an elbow. Hannedy gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Hannedy is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Hannedy can't escape the position.
Miles scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Hannedy?
Hannedy tries to get back to half guard but can't. Miles controlling from mount. Hannedy is mounted and he's throwing punches. Is that wise?
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hannedy is desperately trying to improve his position but Miles has a good base and remains in mount. Miles punishing his opponent with strikes. Miles in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Hannedy tries to reverse the position but Miles maintains control. Miles lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
This has been an exciting period of action! Miles scoring with strikes but Hannedy is staying in there. The referee warns Hannedy that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Hannedy is breathing heavily. Hannedy tries to hold on but Miles pushes him away. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Miles raining down hammerfists from mount. Hannedy can't escape the position.

Wes Miles dominated that second round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!
Miles cracks Hannedy with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Miles stuns Hannedy with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. A decent looking cross lands there for Miles. Hannedy misses with a leg kick letting Miles counter with a right hand. Hannedy misses the body punch and Miles counters by moving into the clinch. Miles can't find room to land a body shot as Hannedy controls the action.
Miles lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage. Hannedy has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Miles avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Miles has Hannedy pushed against the cage. Hannedy has hold of one of Miles's legs. Miles is fighting the takedown attempt but Hannedy gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Miles keeping moving, preventing Hannedy from controlling successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. Miles looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Hannedy got a little sloppy there for a moment and Miles has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hannedy has managed to get both his arms back between Miles's legs - danger averted. Hannedy wants to control from the top but Miles keeps moving. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Miles seems keen to control Hannedy's posture. Hannedy looking to pass the guard. Miles escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hannedy gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Miles looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Hannedy wants to control from the top but Miles keeps moving. Hannedy passes Miles's left leg - he's now in half guard. Hannedy trying to control from half guard but Miles is working away. Hannedy missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Hannedy looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Hannedy is looking for a kimura but Miles is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Hannedy to get the leverage. Hannedy throwing shots but Miles is blocking nicely.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hannedy wants to take a breather but Miles is having none of it. Wes Miles overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Hannedy is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Hannedy takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Miles regains full guard. Nicely done. Miles is looking for a triangle but Hannedy pushes his legs off easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Hannedy looking to sit in guard and control but Miles gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Miles wants to pass the guard but Hannedy is keeping the position. Miles trying to control but Hannedy is working from the bottom. Hannedy working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Miles doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Miles manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Hannedy looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Wes Miles. Well Miles has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win...
