The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Donald Grub and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lon shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Alvarez is trying to defend but Lon finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Lon not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Alvarez gets back to full guard.
Alvarez manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Lon manages to get himself to full guard.
Alvarez passes Lon's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Lon pushes Alvarez off but Alvarez dives into side control.

Lon is looking for a sweep.
Alvarez tries to advance to mount but can't.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lon is trying to control Alvarez's posture but Alvarez avoids it.
Lon is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Alvarez advances to mount.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Alvarez with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Alvarez is trying to take his opponent's back.

Lon has left one of his arms exposed and Alvarez doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Lon screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
