Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Robert Twigg and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Silva. That one must have hurt.
Smith fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Silva.
Silva looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Silva misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Silva throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
A left and a right from Silva both land. Nice combination.
It looks like Nigel Smith has been cut.
Silva misses with a kick to the body.
Silva throws a front kick that sends Smith stumbling back into the cage.
Smith looks gassed!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Silva tries to land a front kick but Smith steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Silva misses with a body kick.
Silva misses with a few strikes there.
Smith moves out of range of the body kick from Silva.
Ramon Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Silva scores with a nice body kick.
A head kick misses from Smith.
Silva shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Silva wants to take a breather but Smith is having none of it.
Silva moves into full mount! Smith won't be happy about that!
Silva mounts Smith! Really nice guard pass there!
That's one minute gone in the round.
Silva forces the positional change into back control.
Silva is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Smith with him. Smith is trying to defend but Silva has an arm under the chin now! Smith grimaces and is forced to tap out!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:34 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Ramon Silva!
