Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vay Krenshaw!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jerry Elwood!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Roosa Järviläinen and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Elwood is looking to score with low kicks.

Elwood rushes Krenshaw and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Krenshaw wants to get back to striking at distance but Elwood won't allow it.
Krenshaw really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Elwood is trying to drag Krenshaw to the mat but Krenshaw just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Elwood is leaning against Krenshaw and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.

Krenshaw breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Krenshaw throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.

Krenshaw tries to keep at a distance but Elwood has taken the fight into the clinch.
Krenshaw wants to break the clinch but can't.

Elwood pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Elwood misses with a straight left.

Elwood scores with a takedown into Krenshaw's guard.
Elwood won't allow Krenshaw to get back to his feet.
Elwood is working Krenshaw over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Krenshaw wants to stand but Elwood is controlling the position.
Elwood throws a strike but Krenshaw rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Krenshaw throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Elwood works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Elwood has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Krenshaw will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Elwood looking for a sweep. Not yet Elwood, not yet.
Elwood is trying to keep Krenshaw in close.
Elwood really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Krenshaw. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Krenshaw wanted to stand there but Elwood had control of the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Elwood working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Krenshaw doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Krenshaw manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Elwood can do anything to dispel that myth.
Krenshaw would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Krenshaw is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Krenshaw passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Krenshaw tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Krenshaw has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Krenshaw is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Elwood has escaped the position, nice work there.

Krenshaw is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Elwood is trying to escape and Krenshaw transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Elwood is forced to tap! Nice work there by Krenshaw! Very nice indeed!
