Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between John Christ (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Hopkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Alan Glass and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hopkins wants to clinch
and Christ cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Hopkins swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Christ counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Hopkins tries to clinch but Christ moves away
enabling Christ to counter with a crisp jab.
Hopkins darts in trying to clinch
and Christ counters with a stiff right hand.
Christ throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Christ throws a head kick but Hopkins moves out of range.
Hopkins throws a lazy head kick
and Christ cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Hopkins moves to clinch but Christ breaks away
and Christ counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Christ.
Hopkins is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Christ is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Hopkins avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Christ has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Christ throws a big right hand that misses.
Christ is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Christ keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Hopkins's head.

Christ passes Hopkins's left leg - he's now in half guard.
