Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fox Lao (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tommy Gunn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lao comes to the cage accompanied by Terminator T-800 Song. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Fox Lao! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tommy Gunn! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Stewart Dunkirk and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lao throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Lao misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Lao fails with the takedown and Gunn counters with a stiff right hand. Gunn throws a leg kick but Lao sees it coming and moves out of range. Lao ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Gunn moves away. Lao throws a hook to the side of Gunn's head but Gunn sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Lao throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Lao lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Gunn circles away quickly and effectively. Nice straight punches there by Lao. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Lao. Lao fails with the takedown and Gunn counters with a nice double leg into guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Lao looking to hit a scissor sweep but Gunn is one step ahead there. Gunn pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Lao is keeping the position for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gunn drops back looking for a leg! Lao is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Lao manages to kick Gunn off! Gunn jumps back into Lao's guard. Gunn trying to control the position from guard on top but Lao is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Lao keeping full guard, as Gunn tries to pass. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Lao wants to sweep here but Gunn controlling him for the moment. Lao is breathing heavily. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Gunn drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Gunn jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Gunn must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Gunn controlling from the top position. Gunn thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Gunn controls from within his opponent's guard. Lao tries to land a sweep but no joy. Gunn thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Gunn wants to pass the guard but Lao is keeping the position. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Gunn is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Gunn wants to control from the top but Lao keeps moving.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gunn thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Gunn postures up.
Gunn drops back looking for a leg! Lao is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Lao manages to kick Gunn off! Gunn jumps back into Lao's guard. Gunn stopping the sweep attempt from Lao. Lao keeping moving, preventing Gunn from controlling successfully. Gunn advances position into side control! Gunn trying to control the action but Lao is working from the bottom. Lao is trying to get back to half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Gunn tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Lao is trying to get back to half guard. Gunn is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Lao knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Gunn wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lao keeps working. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tommy Gunn dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Gunn tests Lao's chin there with a solid looking shot. Lao throws a right hand that misses
and Gunn makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Gunn closes this distance looking for a takedown but Lao circles away. Fox Lao seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Gunn shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Gunn was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Gunn looking to control but Lao is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Lao is desperately trying to improve his position but Gunn has a good base and remains in mount. Gunn is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Lao to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Lao shrugs it off. Gunn looking to isolate an arm here. Lao doesn't see it coming and as Gunn extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Gunn!
