Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Doc Patterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jesu Guzman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Patterson stuffs the takedown.

Patterson fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Guzman sprawls well initially but Patterson persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Guzman looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Guzman is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Patterson passes the guard and advances to mount!
Guzman tries to hold on but Patterson postures up.
Guzman should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Guzman is squirming around, avoiding Patterson's attempts to control the action.
Guzman is trying desperately to improve position.
Patterson wants to take Guzman's back but he can't do it this time.
Guzman is looking to get to half guard.

Guzman in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Patterson lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Patterson wants to get back to his feet but Guzman is holding on tight.

Patterson stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
Patterson fails to land with a series of punches.
Guzman takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Patterson throws a head kick that misses.

Patterson scores a takedown into full mount!
Guzman tries to hold on but Patterson pushes him away.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Guzman looks gassed!

Patterson is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Guzman can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Patterson cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Guzman tries to hold on but Patterson pushes him away.
Guzman is looking to improve his position but Patterson isn't that keen on the idea.

Patterson is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Guzman has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Guzman!
Patterson wants to sweep here but Guzman controlling him for the moment.
Patterson keeping moving, preventing Guzman from controlling successfully.
Guzman pushes down on Patterson's leg and manages to get into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Patterson is trying to get back to full guard.
Patterson is trying to maintain the position but Guzman is very close to passing his half guard.

Guzman in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Patterson tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Guzman!
