The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martinez misses with a takedown
and Martinez takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Martinez looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Martinez avoids the body shot from Kang.
Martinez stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Kang.

Kang clinches with his opponent.

Kang breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Kang leaves Martinez with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Lui Kang has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sis Martinez.
Martinez throws a head kick that misses

and Kang counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Kang stands up and waves to Martinez to follow him.

Oooooh!!! Kang has knocked Martinez down with a huge combo! Kang steps away and waves a wobbly Martinez back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

It looks like Sis Martinez has been cut.
Kang throws a nice looking combination but Martinez bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Martinez shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Kang counters by clinching up.
Martinez looks gassed!

Kang manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Kang seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Martinez trying to control the position from guard on top but Kang is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Kang is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Martinez is controlling him.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Kang shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Kang decides to return to a standing position.

Kang drives through and clinches with Martinez against the ropes.

Kang escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Lui Kang seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Kang drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Kang stands up.
Kang throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Kang lands a jab to Martinez's midsection.

Kang closes the distance and pushes Martinez back into the ropes.

Kang controlling Martinez's posture.
Martinez really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kang. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Kang is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Kang looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Kang decides to stand and escape the position.
Martinez tries to clinch up
and Kang counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Martinez is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kang swinging wildly here.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Martinez enables Kang to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Martinez manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Kang passes into half guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Kang slips a nice elbow through Martinez's hands, connecting with Martinez's forehead.
Kang is taking a breather. Martinez says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The cut man is working on Sis Martinez's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Kang shoots in for a takedown but Martinez shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Kang gets a clinch.
Kang stalls.

Kang gets control of Martinez's arms and successfully pulls guard. Kang will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Martinez wants to get up but he can't break Kang's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Martinez is breathing heavily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kang has his hands on Martinez's head, controlling the position.

Kang is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Kang managing to control the position.
Kang keeping moving, preventing Martinez from controlling successfully.
Kang will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Kang is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Martinez can do to turn this around?

The ref stands the fighters back up. Sis Martinez was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Martinez doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Kang counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Martinez's guard now.

Martinez looking for subs off his back but Kang has passed one foot through into half guard.
Kang is nestled in close to Martinez, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Kang has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Kang lands a nice short elbow.
Kang scores with a couple of good hammerfists.

Kang maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Martinez could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Kang has cracked it and Martinez is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Kang!
