Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vitaliy Martinov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ivan Tarasov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ivan Tarasov will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vitaliy Martinov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ivan Tarasov!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Valeri Chadov and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Tarasov gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Martinov throws a big right hand that misses.
Tarasov has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Martinov slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Martinov wants to control but Tarasov is keeping him busy.

Tarasov sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Martinov's guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Tarasov won't allow Martinov to sweep him here.
Tarasov looking to sit in guard and control but Martinov gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Tarasov decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Tarasov postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Martinov is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Tarasov, into his guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Tarasov shoots in and bounces Martinov off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Martinov will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Martinov escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Tarasov gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Martinov throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.

Tarasov goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Martinov rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Tarasov's guard! Nice work there by Martinov!

Martinov closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Martinov lands in his opponent's guard.

Martinov is landing with some decent strikes but Tarasov is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Martinov swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Tarasov is now in Martinov's guard. A big mistake from Martinov there, giving up the dominant position!

Tarasov drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Martinov dives on top into guard.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Tarasov is staying active underneath Martinov, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

and Tarasov counters with a nice double leg into side control. Martinov won't be happy with that.

Tarasov is looking for a kimura but Martinov is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Tarasov to get the leverage.
Ivan Tarasov has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Tarasov is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Martinov is just riding it out for now. Tarasov eventually gives up the hold.

I would just about give that final round to Ivan Tarasov.
Well Martinov has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
