Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between James Morrison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mason Hendrix (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mason Hendrix is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, James Morrison!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Mason Hendrix!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Andrew Berry and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Morrison shoots in and drives through. Hendrix sprawls well.
Hendrix throws a combination that misses

and Morrison counters with a nice double leg into side control. Hendrix won't be happy with that.
Morrison is putting a hurting on Hendrix here, landing some big shots from side control.
Morrison has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Hendrix is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Morrison asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Hendrix is letting Morrison control him for a moment.

Hendrix really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Morrison. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Hendrix pushes Morrison away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Morrison gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Morrison wants to control but Hendrix is keeping him busy.

Morrison creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Hendrix sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Morrison goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Hendrix rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Morrison's guard! Nice work there by Hendrix!
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Morrison is on top in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Morrison lands a couple of decent looking shots.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Morrison accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Hendrix wants to get back to his feet but Morrison is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Hendrix defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Morrison.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Morrison lands a big shot there that rocks Hendrix but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Morrison wants to control the pace but Hendrix is squirming around nicely.

Morrison darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Hendrix is trying to stand up here but Morrison is controlling him well.
Morrison lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Morrison looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Hendrix with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Hendrix should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

James Morrison dominated that second round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!



Morrison closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Morrison maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Hendrix could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Morrison has cracked it and Hendrix is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Morrison!
