Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Kay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Juho Loco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Loco has chosen Mafyo - Mi W Dele / Naschim Pacanan as his entrance music. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Marcus Kay! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Juho Loco! The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Konstantin Menshow and Valeri Chadov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A combination from Kay does no damage. Kay gets a takedown into half guard. Kay has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Kay thowing shots but they're missing. Loco working to try and regain half guard.
Loco trying desperately to get to his feet.
Loco is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kay takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Kay has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Loco's face.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kay prevents Loco from getting the reversal. Kay working some short elbows here. He postures up to throw some more ground and pound but Loco slips a leg through to get back to half guard. Nice work.
Kay trying to control from half guard but Loco is working away. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kay prevents Loco from standing back up.
Loco won't allow Kay to pass to mount. Kay trying to control the pace. Kay wants to pass the guard but Loco is defending well. Kay seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Loco does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Loco can do anything to dispel that myth.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Kay shoots in but Loco avoids the takedown attempt easily. Kay closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Loco is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Kay asserts his dominance and retains side control. Kay connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Loco some visible discomfort.
Kay remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Loco is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Kay has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Loco looks gassed! Kay working the ground and pound from side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Loco prevents Kay from improving position. Kay is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Kay wants to control but Loco is keeping him busy. Kay tries to move into full mount but can't pass Loco's legs. Loco wants to get back to his feet but Kay drags him back down. Loco being controlled for a moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Loco stops Kay from passing to mount.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Kay fails with a takedown attempt. Kay tries to clinch there but Loco circles away.
Kay misses with a takedown attempt - Loco sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Marcus Kay. That's going to take a lot out of him. Loco tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kay swats him away and circles back towards the center. Loco has taken the fight to the clinch.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Both guys are working to get underhooks. Loco gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Kay.

A short uppercut from Kay. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Marcus Kay dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Kay moves into range and clinches up with Loco. Loco stops a takedown attempt from Kay.
Loco is trying to break the clinch but Kay has him pressed against the cage. Loco breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Kay throws a series of punches but Loco moves out of range. Loco lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Kay shoots in looking for a takedown. Loco tries to sprawl out of it but Kay keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Loco manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Kay circles away from the clinch attempt and Kay counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Kay slows the pace down in half guard. Kay wants to lay and pray for a moment but Loco keeps working. Loco pushes Kay off looking to stand but Kay dives back in and keeps control.
Loco is breathing heavily. Kay works his way into full mount! Kay content just to control the position here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kay goes for an armbar but Loco turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Loco. Loco has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Kay is proving hard to escape from. Loco must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Kay is looking to stand up but Loco isn't so interested in that idea. Loco is looking to stand up but Kay won't let him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Loco won't allow Kay to sweep him here. Loco wants to get up but he can't break Kay's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Kay is trying to control the position but Loco postures up.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Nice body kick from Kay. Kay drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Loco tries to escape but Kay is in control. Loco is looking to reverse the position. Loco is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Kay's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Loco pushes Kay off looking to stand but Kay dives back in and keeps control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Loco is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Kay stops Loco from getting back to his feet.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Loco tries to clinch and Kay counters with a shoot takedown. Loco fights it but they end up in guard. Loco wants to stand and escape but Kay is having none of it. Loco pulls Kay in to control the position. Kay looking to pass the guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kay seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Kay stands and throws Loco's legs to the side, diving into side control. Loco being controlled for a moment. Kay decides to stand back up. Kay moves into the clinch. Loco wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Loco misses with a knee to the head. Loco connects with a nasty looking knee right to Kay's face.
Kay goes for a takedown in the clinch but Loco prevents it.

Loco wants to clinch but Kay slips to the side and Kay decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Loco's guard. Kay trying to control but Loco is working from the bottom. Loco looking for a sweep. Not yet Loco, not yet. Kay trying to control the position from guard on top but Loco is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Kay is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Kay might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Loco wants to get back to his feet but Kay is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Loco tries to land a sweep but no joy.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kay is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Marcus Kay overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Loco clinches but Kay breaks the clinch and Kay counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Kay. Kay fails to pull the fight into his guard.

A head punch on the inside from Loco fails to land. Kay manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Kay manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Kay throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Nice takedown defense from Loco. No joy for Kay on that attempt. Loco closes the distance but Kay moves to the side and Kay counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Loco's guard now. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Loco keeping moving, preventing Kay from controlling successfully. Kay stops Loco from standing up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kay controls from within his opponent's guard. Kay prevents Loco from getting back to his feet. Kay looking to sit in guard and control but Loco gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Kay throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Loco works his way back into a safe position though. Loco is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Kay wants to sweep but no luck.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kay is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Kay wants to sweep here but Loco controlling him for the moment. Kay looking to control.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Loco closes the distance looking to clinch and Kay counters with a flying knee. Nice. Kay shoots in for a takedown but Loco shows good takedown defense. Kay takes the fight into the clinch. Kay changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Loco fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Kay is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Kay shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Kay was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Loco is trying to stand. Loco is bucking up trying to escape but Kay cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Loco's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Loco is trying to escape the mount.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Poor strikes thrown by Kay there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Juho Loco has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Loco flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
And that's the end of the fight! Marcus Kay showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Kay, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
