Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jimmy Jitsu! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yoh Asakura! The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Ren Mimura and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jitsu drives through with a takedown into guard. Jitsu slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Asakura controls Jitsu momentarily but Jitsu frees himself. Jitsu trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Jitsu engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Jitsu has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Asakura trying to control the position.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Jimmy Jitsu wasn't doing enough on the ground. Jitsu throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
A head kick misses from Asakura. Jitsu misses with a straight left. Jitsu darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Jitsu knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Asakura on the ground.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jitsu is thwarting Asakura's attempts to control the position. Asakura works his way to full guard. Good work. Asakura working a defensive guard but Jitsu passes into half guard.
Jitsu trying to pass the guard but Asakura defending well. Jitsu is taking a breather. Asakura says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Jitsu thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Asakura's head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Jitsu controlling the action here. Jitsu wants to stand but Asakura has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Jitsu decides to stand up. Nice uppercut there from Asakura. Jitsu throws a head kick but Asakura moves out of range.

Asakura thows a left - swing and a miss! Asakura throws a head kick that misses. Asakura dips to his left and cracks Jitsu with an uppercut! Asakura throws a head kick but Jitsu moves out of range.
Jitsu closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Asakura quickly recovers to half guard. Jitsu trying to control from half guard but Asakura is working away. Asakura looks gassed!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Asakura wants to get back to his feet. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Jitsu in particular looking to stall. Jitsu seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Asakura for as long as he can get away with. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Jimmy Jitsu just wasn't active enough. Jitsu looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Asakura! Jitsu jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Asakura manages to avoid the submission attempt. Jitsu advances to mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jitsu takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Jitsu has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Jitsu with the ground and pound from mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jimmy Jitsu dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Good anti-grappling being displayed by Jitsu as Asakura tries to tie him up. Asakura letting Jitsu take a breather here. Asakura keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Jitsu's efforts to push away. Jitsu manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Jitsu has his foot on Asakura's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Asakura works his way back into a safe position though. Connects with an elbow from the bottom, proving to the judges that he's still active off his back. Jitsu manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Asakura checks a low kick from Jitsu. Jitsu shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Asakura is breathing heavily. Jitsu wants to free his trapped foot but Asakura is holding on for dear life with his legs.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nice strikes from Jitsu there. Jitsu seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Jimmy Jitsu just wasn't active enough. Jitsu shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Asakura's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jitsu landing some decent shots from guard. Jitsu gets to his feet - Asakura follows without any prompting. Asakura showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Jitsu.
Jitsu shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Asakura taking shots to the head. Jimmy Jitsu overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Jitsu controlling the position easily from mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jitsu lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Asakura hang on? Jitsu lands with some strikes. Jitsu lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Jitsu controlling from the full mount. Jitsu is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Asakura can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Jitsu controlling the position easily from mount. Jitsu working Asakura over with strikes here. Jitsu raining down shots from the mount! Jitsu tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jimmy Jitsu dominated that second round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Jitsu gets a clinch. Asakura is trying to push Jitsu away but Jitsu has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Jitsu is trying to drag Asakura to the mat but Asakura just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Asakura drops down looking for an ankle pick but Jitsu pulls his leg out and moves away.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Jitsu. Jitsu decides to stand back up. Asakura takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Jitsu shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Jitsu stands up and waves to Asakura to follow him. Jitsu shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Asakura is trying to maintain the position but Jitsu is very close to passing his half guard. Jitsu stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being. Jitsu is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Asakura can do to turn this around? Jitsu looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Asakura! A nice elbow there by Jitsu. Jitsu with a couple of short strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jitsu controlling the position easily from mount. Jitsu scoring with strikes but Asakura is staying in there. Jitsu raining down shots from the mount! Asakura is looking to improve his position but Jitsu isn't that keen on the idea. BOOM! Jitsu connects with a massive shot to the dome!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jitsu sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Asakura is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Asakura is in all sorts of trouble here.
Jitsu landing punches. Jitsu looking to finish Asakura with some ground and pound. This is bad for Asakura! Jitsu cracks Asakura with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Jitsu pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Asakura is bucking up trying to escape but Jitsu cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Jitsu controlling the pace for now. Asakura wants to control but Jitsu is having none of it. Jitsu controlling his opponent. Yoh Asakura has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Jimmy Jitsu is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
And that's the end of the fight! Jimmy Jitsu showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Jitsu, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
