Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Bryan Bishop (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Antonio Livramento (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Livramento comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Rootbeer - Under Control kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Bryan Bishop has the better chin. Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bryan Bishop! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Antonio Livramento! The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Edson Gomes and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bishop drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Bishop prevents Livramento from getting back to his feet. Bishop throws a big right hand that misses. Bishop trying to control but Livramento is working from the bottom. Livramento is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Bishop prevents Livramento from getting back to his feet. Bishop connects with a couple of short punches. Bishop throwing strikes from guard but Livramento blocks nicely. Bishop controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Bishop trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Livramento is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Bishop postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Bishop throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Livramento works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Bishop stops Livramento from standing up. Livramento wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Bishop manages to pass to side control. Bishop is nestled in close to Livramento, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Livramento looks gassed! Livramento is looking to escape. Bishop looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Bishop landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Bishop working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bishop is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Bishop scores with a couple of good hammerfists. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Livramento is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Bishop scores with a couple of nice shots. Bishop perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Bishop seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Livramento for as long as he can get away with. Livramento taking some punishment here, with Bishop in his half guard. Bishop moves nicely into side control. Bishop lands a nice forearm strike. Bishop creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

Livramento is still in real trouble! Can Bishop finish him? Bishop is looking to take a break and control but Livramento is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Livramento seems to have recovered his senses. Bishop works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bishop landing strikes. Bishop landing a few strikes. Livramento taking punishment in the form of punches.
Livramento is working to avoid the ground and pound but Bishop connects with a decent elbow. Bishop working the ground and pound from side control. Bishop in side control lands a decent elbow. Bishop works to advance to full mount. Livramento defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Bishop with the ground and pound from mount. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Bishop loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Livramento scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Bishop land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Bishop stands and salutes the crowd.
