Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Terry Bogard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Masaru Hirai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Terry Bogard! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 22 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Masaru Hirai! The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bogard shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hirai pinned against the cage. Hirai gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Hirai waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Bogard. Bogard fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Hirai throws a head kick that misses. Bogard takes a kick to the side of the head.
It looks like Terry Bogard has been cut. Hirai misses with a straight right. Hirai throws a head kick but Bogard moves out of range.
Hirai pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Bogard throws a lazy head kick and Hirai makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Bogard has taken the fight to the clinch.
Hirai's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Horrible takedown by Bogard or perhaps it was just good defense by Hirai which made him look bad. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Terry Bogard. That's going to take a lot out of him. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Hirai takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Hirai stuffs the takedown. Hirai takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Hirai scores with a head kick. Bogard tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time. Hirai takes a swing at Bogard's ribcage but misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hirai connects with a solid leg kick. Bogard is breathing heavily. Hirai displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Bogard. Whack! Hirai lands a heavy head kick that drops Bogard. The ref tackles Hirai to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Bogard was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:14 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Masaru Hirai!
