Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jimbo Te Mako (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Matador (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jimbo Te Mako! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jack Matador! The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, John Mangel and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Matador tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Matador scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Matador misses with a takedown and Te Mako connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Matador moves to clinch but Te Mako breaks away and Te Mako cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Matador throws an off balance right hand
and Te Mako counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Te Mako gets the takedown into side control. The ground and pound from Te Mako seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Te Mako throws an elbow but Matador slips to the side and avoids it well. The ground and pound from Te Mako seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Te Mako throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Te Mako looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Te Mako throwing shots but missing, from side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Te Mako fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Te Mako postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Te Mako tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Te Mako has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Te Mako is trying to get an arm triangle but Matador is defending well. Te Mako throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Matador is trying to get back to his feet. Te Mako goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Matador rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Te Mako's guard! Nice work there by Matador! Te Mako keeping moving, preventing Matador from controlling successfully. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Matador stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Te Mako swivels though and keeps the full guard. Matador got a little sloppy there for a moment and Te Mako has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Matador has managed to get both his arms back between Te Mako's legs - danger averted.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Te Mako keeping moving, preventing Matador from controlling successfully. Matador throwing strikes but missing. Matador trying to control the position from guard on top but Te Mako is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Te Mako is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Matador defends well. Matador throws a strike but Te Mako rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Te Mako working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Te Mako drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Matador manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Te Mako has Matador in his guard. Te Mako manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Te Mako moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Matador has worked his arm free - good work by Matador!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jimbo Te Mako dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Matador throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Te Mako makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Matador misses with a body shot.
Matador misses with a wild body shot. Matador misses with a hook. Matador throws a low kick but Te Mako avoids it. Matador misses the jab. Matador misses with a kick to the body.
Matador gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Matador utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Te Makois looking to pass into half guard but Matador pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Matador is in guard. Te Mako has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Matador can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
That's one minute gone in the round. Te Mako looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Matador is defending well. Te Mako quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Matador has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Te Mako celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:22 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Jimbo Te Mako!
