Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Bogs Reyes!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reyes tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Challis swivels and escapes.
Challis misses with a head kick.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Challis lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Reyes has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Reyes and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Reyes closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Challis did well to prevent Reyes getting side control.

Reyes is nestled in close to Challis, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Challis rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Reyes moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Reyes will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Reyes rushes Challis and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Reyes tries to pull guard but Challis holds him up against the cage and eventually Reyes drops back down to his feet.
Challis is pressed up against the cage. Reyes has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Challis down to the mat. Challis avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Reyes tries to clinch there but Challis circles away.

Challis looks for the body kick but Reyes saw that one coming.

Reyes is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Challis has managed to free his arm - good work.
Reyes wants to pass the guard but Challis is defending well.
Reyes prevents Challis from improving his position.
Reyes wants to free his trapped foot but Challis is holding on for dear life with his legs.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Challis is not content to let Reyes control the position.

Reyes wants to work for an arm triangle but Challis is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Reyes is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Challis is surviving well by controlling Reyes's body position as best he can.
Reyes takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Challis is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Challis can do anything to dispel that myth.

Reyes working for a submission but Challis is keeping him at bay.
Reyes scores with a couple of good head shots there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bogs Reyes dominated that second round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Challis throws a nice outside leg kick.
Challis fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Reyes.
Reyes blocks a head kick by Challis.
Challis lands a head kick. Reyes smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Challis throws a head kick but Reyes moves out of range.
Collin Challis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Challis tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Reyes was well out of range. Poor timing from Challis.
Reyes shoots in for a double leg but Challis sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Reyes's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Challis connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Reyes scrambles back to his feet.

Challis tries to hold on but Reyes pushes him away.

Reyes moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Challis has worked his arm free - good work by Challis!

Reyes has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Challis!
Reyes throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Reyes lands a big shot there that rocks Challis but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Reyes goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Challis turns into him and now he's in Reyes's guard.

Reyes has his foot on Challis's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Challis works his way back into a safe position though.
Challis wants to stand but Reyes is controlling his posture from full guard.
Reyes manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Reyes quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Reyes but it's paid off an Challis is forced to tap! Nice work by Reyes.
