PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bada Bada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Kreese (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bada comes to the cage accompanied by The Prodigy Warriors Dance. Kreese has chosen Saw Theme (Dubstep) as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. John Kreese told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bada Bada!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, John Kreese!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Sergei Dronov and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bada throws a jab when Kreese was well out of range.
Bada misses with a takedown
and Kreese cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Kreese fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Bada sprawls well initially but Kreese persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Bada manages to get to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kreese tries to free his leg and advance position but Bada is retaining full guard.
Kreese is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Kreese won't allow Bada to sweep him here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bada pulls Kreese in to control the position.
Kreese trying to control the position from guard on top but Bada is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Bada trying to keep a closed guard but Kreese is proving a slippery customer.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Bada Bada wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Bada throws a left and a right that both miss
and Kreese counters with a right hand to the body.
Bada fails to land with a series of punches.
Bada throws a right hand that misses

and Kreese counters with a takedown into side control.
Kreese lands some shots froms side control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Bada tries to buck Kreese off but Kreese is having none of it.
Kreese with the ground and pound but Bada regains half guard under the barage of strikes.
Bada is pressing down on Kreese's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Bada manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Kreese manages to get himself to full guard.

Bada postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Kreese is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Bada, into his guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Bada is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Kreese trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Kreese lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Kreese dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Kreese thows a body shot but no joy.

Kreese changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Bada looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Bada is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Kreese's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Bada looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Kreese working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Bada wants to improve his position but Kreese is controlling well.
Kreese is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Bada reverses the position - he's now on top in Kreese's guard.
Bada trying to control the position from guard on top but Kreese is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Kreese wants to sweep but no luck.
Bada wants to control from the top but Kreese keeps moving.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Kreese tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Bada looking to sit in guard and control but Kreese gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kreese passes Bada's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Bada trying to hold on to Kreese's head to control him but Kreese postures up.
Bada tries to roll over but Kreese keeps him under control.
Bada gets full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Kreese is pushing down on Bada's leg trying to pass to half guard. Bada is fighting to maintain full guard but Kreese has managed to sneak the leg through.
Kreese is pressing down on Bada's thigh, looking to free his foot. Bada is holding on for now.
Kreese throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
The fighters are battling for position here. Bada manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Bada working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kreese doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kreese manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Kreese showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. And we move into the final round!

Bada swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

and Kreese counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Bada's guard now.
Bada utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Kreese stays in close to Bada's body and controls the position.

Kreese pushing down on Bada's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Kreese seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Bada does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Kreese wants to free his trapped foot but Bada is holding on for dear life with his legs.
John Kreese has got the better of the ground game so far.
Bada works his way to full guard. Good work.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Bada is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Kreese defends well.
Kreese wants to pass the guard but Bada is keeping the position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Kreese prevents Bada from improving his position.
Bada works his way to full guard. Good work.
Bada Bada has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Kreese lands a couple of digs.
Kreeseis looking to pass into half guard but Bada pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Bada is in guard.

John Kreese comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Kreese has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
