The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Won scores with a takedown into Roberts's guard. Won not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Roberts keeping full guard, as Won tries to pass. The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. John Won wasn't active enough on the ground. Won gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Won turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! A lull in the action here as Won stalls from top position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. An elbow from Won crashes against the mat.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Won tries for a kimura but Roberts is defending well. Roberts avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Won. Won connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Roberts some visible discomfort.
It looks like Jake Roberts has been cut. Won thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Won staying calm.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Won misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Won with the ground and pound but Roberts regains half guard under the barage of strikes. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Won scores a takedown into full mount! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Won with a couple of short strikes. Won throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Roberts because Won loaded up on that one. Won working the ground and pound effectively.
