Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Remy Lava (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe OBrien (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lava kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Numero 1. Joe OBrien has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
OBrien misses with a looping right.
OBrien misses with a left hand
letting Lava counter with a right hand.
Lava shoots in looking for a takedown but OBrien manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Lava's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Lava dodges the punch combination from OBrien.

OBrien has closed the distance and engaged Lava in a clinch.

Lava's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
OBrien ducks under a wild hook from Lava.
OBrien throws a left and a right that both miss
and Lava counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

A solid leg kick lands there for Lava.

Lava lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but OBrien circles away quickly and effectively.

and Lava counters with a shoot takedown. OBrien fights it but they end up in guard.
Lava with a flurry of punches that miss.
OBrien wants to stand up but Lava is controlling him.
Lava advances position into side control!
OBrien tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Lava wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
OBrien is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
OBrien is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Lava has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Lava remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Lava is looking to take a break and control but OBrien is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Lava is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because OBrien is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Lava creates some space and throws a big elbow, but OBrien sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Lava has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Lava works to advance to full mount. OBrien defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Lava cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

OBrien wants to control but Lava is having none of it.
OBrien is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.

Lava has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of OBrien's face.
Lava tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

OBrien tries to hold on but Lava pushes him away.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Lava cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

OBrien is desperately trying to improve his position but Lava has a good base and remains in mount.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
OBrien wants to hold on but Lava pushes him away.

and Lava counters with a nice kick to the body.
OBrien lands a nice hook to Lava's body. Lava takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

and Lava counters with a nice low kick that buckles OBrien's knee momentarily.

OBrien tries to close the distance and clinch but Lava swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

enabling Lava to counter with a crisp jab.

and Lava counters with a good low kick that OBrien was not able to check.
OBrien cracks Lava with a right hand to the side of the head.

Lava shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Lava loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have OBrien scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Lava land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Lava stands and salutes the crowd.
