Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Charles Knight (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Donnie Nietes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Knight has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Charles Knight! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Donnie Nietes! The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Bruno Hogan and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Knight walks into a jab. Knight is breathing heavily. Knight fails with an attempt to clinch.
Knight tries to move into range but Nietes moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Nietes moves into range and connects with a jab. Nietes shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Knight eats them both and turns towards Nietes to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Knight walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Nietes swats away the attempt to clinch by Knight. Nice uppercut lands for Nietes. That snapped Knight's head back.

Nietes darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Knight closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Knight walks straight into an uppercut. Nietes moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Knight takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Knight needs to keep his hands up - Nietes had a free shot at his head there. Knight takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Nietes avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Nietes, as that shot connected.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Knight with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Nietes to score with a decent uppercut. Knight takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Nietes lands a right hook to the body.

Nietes feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Knights jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Nietes bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Knight's head backwards. Nietes darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Knight is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Nietes lands with a right hand. Nietes cracks Knight with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Knight walks into a straight right hand from Nietes. Nietes digs a good body shot into Knight's ribs. Nietes circles away from the clinch attempt.
Nietes swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Knight. Nietes stuns Knight with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Nice cross by Nietes. Nietes scores with a hook. Nietes fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Knight on the side of the head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nietes lands with a nice body punch. Knight has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ. Nietes lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
