Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rick Rogers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zap Rowsdower (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rick Rogers! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Zap Rowsdower! The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Damien Edna and Bruno Hogan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rogers misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Rowsdower.
Rogers scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Rogers throws a looping overhand right but Rowsdower ducks down to avoid it. Rogers misses with a two punch combination.
Nice sprawl there from Rogers as Rowsdower shoots in. A punch combination from Rogers misses. Rowsdower shoots in for a double leg but Rogers sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Rogers swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Rowsdower. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Rowsdower. Rick Rogers has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Zap Rowsdower. Rowsdower needs to keep his hands up - Rogers had a free shot at his head there. Rowsdower tries for a takedown but Rogers sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Rowsdower wants to clinch up but Rogers keeps it at a distance. Zap Rowsdower seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rogers stuffs the takedown. Rogers misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Rowsdower shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Rogers as he jumps to the side. Rowsdower looks gassed! Rogers rushes Rowsdower and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Rogers gets underhooks to prevent Rowsdower's takedown attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rogers digs a right hand underneath Rowsdower's ribcage. Rowsdower let out a lung full of air as it connected. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Rogers takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Rogers breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Rowsdower looks for a takedown but Rogers sprawls well. Rogers tries to close the distance and clinch up but Rowsdower swats him away and circles back towards the center. Rogers lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Rowsdower is rocked! Rogers drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Rowsdower is still in real trouble! Can Rogers finish him? You can see the frustration on Rowsdower's face as Rogers controls the position. Rowsdower seems to have recovered his senses. Rowsdower manages to get back to half guard. Rowsdower is holding on to half guard well. Rogers trying to control the action but Rowsdower is working from the bottom. Rowsdower makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Rowsdower. Rowsdower is trying to keep Rogers in close.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rowsdower wants to sweep here but Rogers controlling him for the moment. Rowsdower not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Rowsdower is striking from the bottom but Rogers uses the opportunity to pass into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rowsdower tries to get to full guard but Rogers has control of the leg. The fighters are battling for position here. Rowsdower manages to regain full guard. Nice work. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Rowsdower keeping busy on the bottom but Rogers has passed one foot through into half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Rowsdower looking to hit a scissor sweep but Rogers is one step ahead there. Rowsdower is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Rowsdower wants to control but Rogers passes easily into half guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Rowsdower is trying to get back to full guard. Rowsdower gets full guard. Rogers stands up from guard. Let's bang! Rogers thows a body shot but no joy. Rowsdower has his takedown stuffed and Rogers counters with a lovely straight right hand!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rogers misses with a jab, cross combination.
Rowsdower doesn't succeed with the takedown and Rogers counters with a series of strikes. Rowsdower will be more careful next time no doubt. Rowsdower fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Rogers sprawls well initially but Rowsdower persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Rowsdower tries to pass the half guard into mount. Rogers knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Rowsdower seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Rogers does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Rowsdower passes to side control. Rowsdower tries to score with some ground and pound. Rogers controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Rogers is working to avoid the ground and pound but Rowsdower connects with a decent elbow. Rowsdower cracks Rogers with an elbow. That is naaassty. Rowsdower working away. Rowsdower has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rick Rogers dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Rowsdower drives through with a takedown into guard. Rowsdower looking to pass the guard. Rogers looking for a sweep. Not yet Rogers, not yet. Rogers is working hard here to advance position. Rowsdower looking to pass the guard. Rogers wants to sweep but no luck. Rowsdower loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Rowsdower trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Rowsdower passes easily into side control. Nice work. Rowsdower lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Rogers down.
Rogers is trying to improve his position. Rowsdower misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Rowsdower trying to control the action but Rogers is working from the bottom. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. You can see the frustration on Rogers's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Rowsdower grinds an elbow into Rogers's temple. Rogers is looking for a sweep. Rowsdower landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Zap Rowsdower has got the better of the ground game so far. Rogers on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Rowsdower tries to move into full mount but can't pass Rogers's legs. Rowsdower looks up at the clock and then as Rogers takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Rowsdower smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Rowsdower controls the position. Rogers defending against the ground and pound. Rowsdower working the strikes but Rogers uses the opportunity to regain half guard. Rowsdower passes to full mount! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rowsdower postures up and throws a massive shot that knocks Rogers out cold! Two more strikes to his unconscious opponent for good luck and this one is all over! Rowsdower goes absolutely crazy with his corner! Wow, you can see how much that win means to him!
