Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mario Krkic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Lookwood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mario Krkic!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Matt Lookwood!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Alan Glass and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lookwood shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Lookwood showed some decent athleticism there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Krkic won't allow Lookwood to pass to mount.
Krkic makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Krkic.
Lookwood must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Krkic looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Lookwood would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Krkic is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Lookwood is aware though and is defending well.

Lookwood really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Krkic. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Lookwood closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Lookwood changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Krkic tries to avoid it but Lookwood manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Krkic to the ground. Krkic escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Lookwood tries to clinch there but Krkic circles away.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Lookwood is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Krkic doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Lookwood.
Lookwood is taking a breather. Krkic says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Krkic wants to get back to full guard.

and Lookwood counters with a single leg into guard. Krkic didn't expect that.

That was a close second round but I would say that Mario Krkic will probably get the nod.

Lookwood has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Krkic is working away from the top position though.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Krkic has Lookwood pressed against the cage, preventing Lookwood from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Lookwood tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Krkic looking to stall.
Lookwood fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Lookwood jumps into guard, dragging Krkic to the mat.
Krkic preventing the sweep.
Krkic wants to get up but he can't break Lookwood's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
