Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Carlos Podanosk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Randy Couture (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Roosa Järviläinen and Ben Zyskovitsi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Couture closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Couture lands in his opponent's guard.
Couture stops Podanosk from standing up.
Podanosk is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Couture is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Couture stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Podanosk swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Couture drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Podanosk manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Couture has Podanosk in his guard.
Podanosk has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Podanosk wants to stand and escape but instead Couture has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Couture advances position into side control!
Couture thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Couture should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Podanosk looking for a sweep but Couture has passed into full mount! Oh no!
Couture content just to control the position here.
Podanosk knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Couture on the ground.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Couture controlling from mount.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Podanosk really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Podanosk wants to hold on but Couture pushes him away.
Podanosk is trying to reverse the position but instead Couture has taken his back - oops!
Couture is working hard for the rear naked choke here.

Podanosk breaks Couture's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Couture has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Podanosk off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
A looping hook to the body misses from Couture. Podanosk does a little dance to reset his feet.
Podanosk tries to clinch up
and Couture counters by moving into the clinch.
Podanosk tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Couture smiles and moves away.
Podanosk wants to clinch but Couture slips to the side
and Couture counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Couture.
Podanosk throws his legs up looking for a submission but Couture uses it to pass to side control.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Podanosk is looking to reverse the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Couture has Podanosk up against the cage in a clinch.
Couture's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Podanosk with a lazy takedown attempt
and Couture decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Podanosk's guard.
Couture controlling from the top position.
Podanosk controls Couture momentarily but Couture frees himself.
Couture slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Couture slips nicely into half guard.

Couture thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Couture uses his free foot to push down on Podanosk's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Podanosk.
Podanosk is desperately trying to improve his position but Couture has a good base and remains in mount.
Couture tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Couture's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Couture misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Poor strikes thrown by Couture there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Podanosk can't escape the position.
Couture misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Podanosk is just holding on here. Couture manages to take his back.
Randy Couture has got the better of the ground game so far.
Couture controlling the position well here. Podanosk rolled but Couture kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
Couture has the hooks in. Podanosk is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Couture controls the position.
Couture is hanging on to Podanosk's back as he tries to escape.
Podanosk is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
Couture somehow managing to miss with a strike from the back.
Couture has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
Couture missing with punches from the back.
Couture biding his time, looking for the opening.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Randy Couture showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Couture throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Podanosk tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Couture is in Podanosk's guard.
Couture stands up from Podanosk's guard - Couture perhaps looking for a knockout.
Couture shoots in and bounces Podanosk off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Couture slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Couture got a little sloppy there for a moment and Podanosk has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Couture has managed to get both his arms back between Podanosk's legs - danger averted.
Couture decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Podanosk, up you get!
Couture decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Podanosk wants to improve his position but Couture is controlling well.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Randy Couture hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Couture is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Couture throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Podanosk works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Couture decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Couture throws a wild body kick that Podanosk sees coming a mile off.
Podanosk doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Couture counters with a shoot takedown. Podanosk fights it but they end up in guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Couture looking to pass the guard.
Podanosk is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Podanosk controls Couture momentarily but Couture frees himself.
Couture pushes down on Podanosk's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Couture perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Randy Couture is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Couture moves nicely into side control.

Randy Couture comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Couture has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
