And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Steve Rogers!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Cecil Peabody and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz swinging wildly here.
A combination from Diaz does no damage.
Diaz checks a low kick from Rogers.
Diaz rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Rogers counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Rogers showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Diaz.
Rogers fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Diaz has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Diaz misses with a double jab

and Rogers counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Rogers stops Diaz from getting back to his feet.

Diaz pushes Rogers off looking to stand but Rogers dives back in and keeps control.
Rogers wants to pass to mount but Diaz is defending the position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rogers winds up and cracks Diaz with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Rogers seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Rogers is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Diaz wants to get back to his feet.
Diaz is breathing heavily.
BOOM! Rogers connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Rogers loads up with a big shot that hurts Diaz! He's pulled Rogers in close but Rogers has postured up and lands more strikes. Can Diaz survive? More strikes from Rogers and Diaz is out! The ref jumps in to save him! Brutal ground and pound!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:01 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Steve Rogers!
