Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Derek Patterson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Morgan Littlechild!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Stewart Dunkirk and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Patterson forces Littlechild back against the cage and clinches.
Littlechild jumps guard.
Littlechild not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Littlechild has a closed guard, preventing Patterson from standing up.
Littlechild is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Patterson wants to get up but he can't break Littlechild's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Littlechild working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Patterson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Patterson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Patterson wants to stand but Littlechild has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Patterson just misses with a punch to the body.
Patterson throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
No luck for Littlechild with that takedown attempt.
Littlechild gets a takedown into half guard.
Littlechild is looking to take a break and control but Patterson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Patterson is in trouble now - Littlechild has advanced to mount!
Patterson tries to buck Littlechild off but he can't manage it.
Patterson is breathing heavily.
Littlechild controlling his opponent.
Patterson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Littlechild on the ground.
Littlechild is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Patterson is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Patterson flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Littlechild anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Patterson and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Littlechild slips an arm under Patterson chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Littlechild has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Littlechild is squeezing on Patterson like an anaconda would it's prey. Patterson fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
