Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kenshii Tanamoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shane Martinez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Tanamoto might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Slipknot - Wait and Bleed. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Shirou Masuda and Yuuki Gou.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tanamoto throws a head kick but Martinez moves out of range.
The crowd cheers as Tanamoto lands an impressive looking overhand right. Martinez doesn't seem phased though.

Tanamoto shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Martinez but Martinez pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Tanamoto wants to clinch.
Martinez tries a head kick but it misses.
Martinez is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Martinez darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Martinez wants to take a breather but Tanamoto is having none of it.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Martinez goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Tanamoto turns into him and now he's in Martinez's guard.

Martinez has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Tanamoto off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Martinez feints and as Tanamoto raises his hands in defense, Martinez changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Tanamoto wants to stand and escape but Martinez is having none of it.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Martinez's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Martinez sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Tanamoto's guard.
Martinez stands up and beckons Tanamoto to join him on the feet.

and Martinez counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Martinez.
Martinez tries to free his leg and advance position but Tanamoto is retaining full guard.

Martinez postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Tanamoto is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Martinez, into his guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Martinez wriggles free and stands up.
Tanamoto shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Martinez closes the distance and clinches.
Tanamoto tries a knee to the head but Martinez blocks it.

Martinez clinches up with Tanamoto and pushes him back against the cage.
Tanamoto is fighting off a takedown attempt but Martinez is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Tanamoto to the mat. Tanamoto regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Martinez accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Martinez stands and steps away. Tanamoto gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

and Martinez decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Tanamoto's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!

Kenshii Tanamoto seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
