The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Damien Edna and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brookins looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Brookins has his takedown stuffed
and Borges counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Brookins shoots in but Borges avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Matheus Borges has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of William Brookins.
Brookins drops Borges with a beautiful combination! Borges stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Brookins is looking for the KO!

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Brookins is defended easily by Borges.
Borges shoots in looking for a takedown but Brookins manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Borges's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Brookins doesn't manage to clinch there - Borges circles away.
Brookins throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Brookins tries for a takedown but Borges circles away easily
and Borges decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Brookins's guard.
Borges tries to free his leg and advance position but Brookins is retaining full guard.
Borges gets to his feet - Brookins follows without any prompting.
Borges shoots in and drives through. Brookins sprawls well.

Borges wants to finish this one by submission but Brookins is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Borges.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Borges is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Borges extends the arm and Brookins is forced to tap!
