Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ashe Corven (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fedor Emelianenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Corven comes to the cage accompanied by Escape. Emelianenko comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Казачья - Ой т& kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Fedor Emelianenko is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ashe Corven! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Fedor Emelianenko ! The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Vladimir Khabensky and Viktor Lagutenko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Emelianenko throws out a loose jab but Corven uses good head movement to avoid it. Corven misses with a shot to the body and Emelianenko counters with a nice body kick. Corven misses with a takedown and Emelianenko counters with a straight right hand. Corven doesn't succeed with the takedown and Emelianenko counters with a two punch combo. Corven doesn't succeed with the takedown and Emelianenko counters with a good low kick that Corven was not able to check. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ashe Corven. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sloppy strikes from Emelianenko . Those never looked like landing. Corven shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Emelianenko manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Corven content to stall in guard here. Corven wants to pass the guard but Emelianenko is keeping the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Corven won't allow Emelianenko to get back to his feet. Emelianenko keeping moving, preventing Corven from controlling successfully. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Emelianenko is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Corven is controlling him. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
We're going to have a standup here because Ashe Corven wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Corven misses with a lunging right hand
and Emelianenko counters with a two punch combo.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Corven with a lazy takedown attempt and Emelianenko counters with a three punch combo that has Corven backing up. Corven nods at Emelianenko to acknowledge the strikes. A head kick misses from Emelianenko . Emelianenko falls off balance throwing a combination
and Corven counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Corven uses his free foot to push down on Emelianenko 's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Emelianenko . Corven swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Emelianenko is now in Corven's guard. A big mistake from Corven there, giving up the dominant position!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Corven is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Emelianenko pushes Corven off looking to stand but Corven dives back in and keeps control.
Corven wants to work for an arm triangle but Emelianenko is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Fedor Emelianenko will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

and Corven counters with a takedown into side control. Corven wants to control but Emelianenko is keeping him busy. Corven working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Corven trying to control the position but Emelianenko is working away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Corven is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Emelianenko has escaped the position, nice work there. Emelianenko is trying to get back to his feet. Corven thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Emelianenko is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Emelianenko is trying to stand and escape here. He's got onto all fours but that's just let Corven take his back! Uh oh - Corven has got a rear naked choke here! Emelianenko is forced to tap! It's all over! One monent is all it takes in this sport!
