Currie comes to the cage accompanied by Helmet - Just Another Victim. Cross has chosen The American Dream Song as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, David Currie! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
13 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, David Cross! The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Jonathan Paton and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Currie has managed to clinch.
Cross looking to throw knees to the head but Currie is blocking nicely.
A left hand lands to the body for Currie.
Cross misses with some punches.
Cross scores with a shot to the side of Currie's head. Cross prevents the takedown attempt.
Currie prevents a takedown attempt there.
Currie blocks an elbow strike. Cross misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Currie.
Cross fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Currie wants a takedown.
A head punch on the inside from Cross fails to land. Cross misses with a punch on the inside.
Cross tries to land knees in the clinch but Currie avoids the damage to the body. Cross looking to throw knees to the head but Currie is blocking nicely.
Cross throws an elbow but it misses.
Currie scores with a nice hook to the head. Cross working aggressively here.
Currie lands a takedown into guard.
Cross working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Currie doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Currie manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Cross has an active guard here but Currie has managed to pass into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Currie is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Cross has managed to free his arm - good work. Currie landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Cross looking for subs from the bottom but Currie mounts him! Currie working the ground and pound effectively.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Currie lands a big elbow. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Currie lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Cross hang on?
Cross is rocked! Currie landing strikes, looking to finish! Cross is still in real trouble! Can Currie finish him? The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Cross is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
A nice elbow there by Currie. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Cross working to try and regain half guard.
Currie postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Cross badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Currie around the waist but Currie pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Currie is the winner by TKO! Currie jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:03 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). David Currie! David Currie retains his lightweight title!
