Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
11 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Nate Query!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Vincent Valentine!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, John Kavanagh and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Valentine lands with a thumping leg kick.
Valentine throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Query connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Valentine on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Query misses the jab.
Valentine gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Valentine checks a leg kick.
Valentine has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Valentine throws a lazy uppercut
and Query counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Query swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Query misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Valentine counters with a straight right hand.
Query swings and misses with a shot to the body
letting Valentine counter with a right hand.
A shot to the liver by Query. Beautiful body shot.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Query keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Some bone on bone action there as Valentine checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Valentine swings widly with a right hand
and Query counters with a right hand to the body.
Valentine misses with a hook to the body
and Query counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Valentine takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Valentine looks gassed!
Query tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Valentine was well out of range. Poor timing from Query.
Valentine misses with a left hand
and Query counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Query bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Valentine's head backwards.
Query comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Valentine keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Query.
Valentine on the wrong end of a nice hook.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Query throws a perfectly timed hook that sends Valentine crashing down! Valentine tries to stagger back to his feet but Query just hammers him until the ref stops the fight! A confused Valentine asks the ref what just happened. Poor fella.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:03 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Nate Query!
