Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bruce McBrain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kari Peippo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Peippo has chosen Public Enemy - Terminator X to the Edge of Panic as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Bruce McBrain could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Kari Peippo's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Bruce McBrain! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Kari Peippo! The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Tarja Halkonen and Marco Blurström.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McBrain checks a leg kick. Peippo feints and as McBrain raises his hands in defense, Peippo changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Peippo in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Peippo is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Peippo working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Peippo missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. McBrain working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Peippo. Peippo trying to control but McBrain is working from the bottom. Peippo prevents McBrain from getting back to his feet. Peippo throwing strikes but missing.
That's one minute gone in the round. McBrain wants to stand up but Peippo is controlling him. Peippo slips nicely into half guard. Peippo has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Peippo is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Peippo is keen to just control but McBrain is a slippery customer. Peippo is looking for a kimura here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Peippo is looking to pass McBrain's guard but actually McBrain recovers to full guard. Peippo postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! McBrain is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Peippo, into his guard. Peippo is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and McBrain defends well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McBrain stopping the sweep attempt from Peippo. McBrain is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Peippo has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. McBrain is looking to defend but Peippo has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for McBrain! Peippo pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, McBrain taps out and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Kari Peippo!
