Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Andy James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sergey Volkov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). James comes to the cage accompanied by Judas Priest -Painkiller. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Sergey Volkov was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sergey Volkov! The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Saam Ante and Paul Aken.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Volkov fails with the takedown and Volkov takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Volkov shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and James counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. James feints and as Volkov raises his hands in defense, James changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Volkov is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. James looking to control the position here, rather than advance. James knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Volkov on the ground. James postures up in Volkov's guard and throws a big left but Volkov blocks it. James with a nice head shot there. Volkov is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. James with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. James throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Volkov tries to land a sweep but no joy. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Volkov keeping full guard, as James tries to pass.

Volkov looking for submissions from an awkward position here. James is pressing down on Volkov's thigh, looking to free his foot. Volkov is holding on for now. That's two minutes gone in the round. James lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Volkov avoiding damage under a succession of punches from James. James wants to work for an arm triangle but Volkov is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
James not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. James seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. James throwing shots but Volkov is blocking nicely. Volkov is looking to control James's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Volkov avoid being mounted? James decides to stand and escape the position. James clinches up against the cage. James breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Volkov with a lazy takedown attempt and James counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Volkov's guard now. Andy James has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sergey Volkov.

Volkov had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. James defends it easily. Volkov looks gassed! Volkov working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from James. James working some strikes from top position. James stands up and waves to Volkov to follow him. Volkov misses with a takedown attempt and James cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Volkov with a poor takedown and James counters into the clinch. Nicely done. James is working Volkov over against the cage. James lands with a short head shot on the inside. James's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. James looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! That's four minutes gone in the round. James landing some decent shots from guard. James engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. James working some strikes from top position. James lands a couple of elbows. James throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Volkov works some decent striking defense from the bottom. James landing some decent shots from guard. James scoring with some ground and pound. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. James is looking to work some ground and pound but Volkov has wrist control. James lands a couple of digs. James working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. James with a flurry of punches that miss. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Andy James dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Volkov tries for a takedown but James circles away easily and James moves into the clinch. James manages to break the clinch.

James looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Volkov with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. James lands with a punch from half guard. Volkov trying to control but James postures up.
Andy James overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. James throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. James is looking to take a break and control but Volkov is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. James working Volkov over with strikes. James trying to control the action but Volkov is working from the bottom. Volkov wants to control but James is keeping busy.
James is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Volkov can do to turn this around?

Volkov is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but James pulls his head out easily. Volkov is breathing heavily. James scores with a couple of good hammerfists.

Volkov is rocked! Volkov is trying to defend against the ground and pound but James scores with a couple of nice shots. Volkov is still in real trouble! Can James finish him? James drops an elbow to the side of Volkov's head. James scores with a big shot! Volkov's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Volkov! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:32 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Andy James!
